Job Summary

Our client, a prestigious establishment in the hospitality sector, is in search of a diligent and industrious Kitchen Steward to reinforce the back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will uphold impeccable cleanliness and sanitation protocols within the kitchen, manage dishwashing duties, sanitize kitchen equipment, oversee waste disposal, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. This position demands a highly organized, physically capable, and meticulous individual who can thrive in the demanding and high-caliber environment of a five-star hospitality venue.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties, including strategic planning, team leadership, and operational oversight, to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Drive project management initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align departmental goals with broader company objectives, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Serve as a key liaison between senior management and operational staff, providing clear communication, data-driven insights, and actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.

Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation surfaces.

Responsibilities include maintaining the proper handling, storage, and organization of all kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality and accessibility.

Provide essential assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel, performing fundamental food preparation and other operational duties as needed.

Properly manage waste materials in accordance with established hygiene and safety protocols.

Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of garbage collection areas at all times.

Maintain appropriate levels of cleaning supplies by refilling them as needed and promptly report any shortages to supervisors for timely restocking.

Operate dishwashing machines and related cleaning equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times.

Provide support in ensuring cleanliness standards are maintained during conferences, banquets, and other large-scale events.

Maintain impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards in line with five-star hospitality guidelines.

Address all cleaning requests from the kitchen and food & beverage teams without delay to ensure timely resolution.

Execute and maintain detailed deep cleaning schedules while overseeing daily kitchen maintenance tasks to uphold high hygiene and operational standards.

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or business administration, and demonstrate at least three years of professional experience in a related role. Proficiency in industry-standard software, tools, or methodologies is essential, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team environment is required. Prior experience with project management, data analysis, or a similar function is highly desirable, as is familiarity with regulatory compliance standards applicable to the position.

A diploma or certificate in hospitality is required for this position.

A qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline will be viewed favorably during the selection process.

A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience as a Kitchen Steward in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting is required.

Preferred candidates will have prior experience in a fast-paced or luxury hospitality environment.

Proficiency in food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and sanitation regulations is essential.

Proficient in the secure handling and application of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Capable of maintaining physical fitness and sustaining prolonged periods of standing are essential requirements for this role.

Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative abilities are essential, along with the capacity to convey ideas clearly and effectively in a team setting.

Must be able to accommodate flexible scheduling, which may include weekend and holiday shifts.
