Oxford University Press East Africa seeks to appoint an Assistant Education Business Advisor for an eight-month fixed-term contract based in Nairobi. The position will concentrate on expanding sales, cultivating school partnerships, overseeing distributor networks, and assisting with collections and CRM reporting. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Education, Sales, or Marketing and possess three to five years of relevant experience in educational sales. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, along with the capacity to operate autonomously while engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Oversee and execute core responsibilities encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership initiatives to drive organizational objectives. Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory compliance while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency, productivity, and accountability across departments. Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement, mitigate risks, and capitalize on growth opportunities. Liaise with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align priorities, resolve issues, and achieve long-term success. Maintain meticulous documentation, accurate reporting, and transparent communication to uphold accountability and facilitate informed decision-making.

Achieve predetermined sales objectives by implementing a strategic territory management approach.

Daily school visits are conducted to maintain precise documentation of activities.

Prospect and transform emerging business prospects into viable opportunities.

Oversee the operations of bookshops and distribution networks to enhance product accessibility and presence within the market.

Facilitate collections operations, track overdue balances, and prepare and submit sales reports in a timely manner.

Ideal profile

Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities, coupled with exceptional organizational proficiency, are essential for this role.

Proficient in digital technologies, technical systems, data management, and analytical methodologies.

Upholding professional integrity, adhering to ethical principles, and championing brand stewardship are essential duties.

Candidates with prior teaching experience will be viewed favorably.
