Oxford University Press East Africa is currently seeking an Assistant Education Business Advisor to join their Nairobi-based team for an eight-month fixed-term contract. The primary focus of this role will be to enhance sales performance, cultivate robust school partnerships, oversee distributor management, and facilitate collections and CRM reporting. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Education, Sales, or Marketing, along with three to five years of relevant experience in educational sales. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate the capacity to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Oversee daily operations ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Manage and lead a team by providing clear guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Develop and implement strategies to improve performance and achieve organizational goals. Monitor progress through regular evaluations and adjust plans as necessary to maintain operational excellence. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols. Handle administrative duties, including reporting, documentation, and resource allocation.

Achieve sales targets by implementing a targeted territory plan with precision and dedication.

Daily school visits are required, during which precise documentation of all activities must be maintained.

Identify and pursue fresh business prospects, converting them into tangible opportunities for growth.

Oversee bookshops and distributors to enhance product accessibility and market presence.

Provide support for collections efforts, track outstanding balances, and prepare and submit sales reports in a timely manner.

Ideal profile

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities, along with adept negotiation skills, are essential for this role.

Proficiency in digital technologies, technical expertise, data management, and analytical capabilities is required.

Professionalism, adherence to ethical guidelines, and maintaining brand integrity are essential aspects of this role.

Professional experience in an educational setting would be advantageous.
