Responsibilities include transporting fully loaded goods to designated delivery points in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Operate articulated trucks and trailers to transport goods safely and efficiently along designated routes.

Perform comprehensive pre-departure and post-trip vehicle assessments to verify operational safety and immediately document any deficiencies.

Verify adherence to road traffic laws, transportation regulations, and the organization’s established safety protocols.

Responsibilities include ensuring the safe loading, securing, and unloading of cargo in full compliance with established handling procedures.

Maintain precise documentation of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, and any incidents through logbook or electronic tracking systems.

Ensure strict adherence to assigned schedules and routes, promptly reporting any delays or incidents that arise.

Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and ensure it receives proper care at all times.

Work in partnership with fleet supervisors and mechanics to coordinate maintenance schedules and repair activities.

Always uphold professionalism and deliver exceptional customer service in all engagements with clients, security personnel, or regulatory bodies.

Adhere to defensive driving protocols to mitigate potential hazards and uphold a stringent safety-first environment.

Profile

A minimum of five years of hands-on experience operating articulated trucks and trailers is required.

An educational attainment equivalent to an O’ Level certification or its comparable standard is required for this position.

Must possess a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Heavy Vehicle endorsement.

Maintains a clean driving record, free from any significant traffic violations.

Holders of a Certificate in Defensive Driving for Passenger Service Vehicles (PSV) demonstrate proficiency in safe, efficient, and courteous driving techniques tailored to public transportation. This credential underscores a commitment to accident prevention, regulatory compliance, and passenger well-being, ensuring drivers adhere to industry standards and legal obligations. Recipients exhibit enhanced hazard awareness, defensive maneuvering skills, and an understanding of vehicle dynamics, significantly reducing risks associated with high-capacity passenger transport.

Proficiency in Occupational Health & Safety principles constitutes a desirable qualification for this role.

Proficient in utilizing GPS tracking systems and optimizing route planning methodologies.
