THE ROLE

As the Sous Chef, you will serve as the primary driving force behind our culinary operations throughout Nairobi. Directly reporting to the Head Chef, this is a dynamic leadership position that requires active engagement on the floor—overseeing kitchen efficiency, upholding the high standards of food quality our guests anticipate, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

You will collaborate across various branches, making consistency a non-negotiable priority. From the initial service of the day to the final transaction, maintaining high standards is essential—and so is your commitment to upholding them.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Maintain uncompromising food quality and consistency by upholding presentation and taste standards uniformly across all branches, ensuring excellence in every service provided.

Cost management and waste reduction are critical priorities, requiring strict oversight of food expenses, minimizing unnecessary waste, and ensuring proper stock rotation to maintain freshness and efficiency.

You oversee all facets of kitchen operations, including prep scheduling, duty rosters, supply coordination, and inventory management, ensuring seamless day-to-day functionality.

Team leadership — Foster a high-performing kitchen team by providing training, motivation, and professional development opportunities. Conduct consistent one-on-one check-ins to ensure alignment and address individual needs. Cultivate an environment where team members take ownership of their roles and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence.

Hygiene and compliance are essential priorities that must never be compromised. You are responsible for strictly adhering to food safety regulations, ensuring proper handling of all equipment, and maintaining a team that is always prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by actively monitoring feedback, resolving concerns promptly, and guaranteeing a positive experience for every guest during their stay.

YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU

Demonstrated expertise in a sous’ chef capacity or a senior leadership position within a kitchen environment is required.
