Role Description
This position is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a Business Development Manager specializing in Pensions (Corporate/Retail), located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The role entails spearheading a team to uncover new business prospects within the pensions sector, cultivating and sustaining robust client relationships, and formulating strategic initiatives to expand presence in both corporate and retail pension markets. Key duties encompass crafting and presenting proposals, performing comprehensive market research, evaluating industry trends, negotiating contractual agreements, and partnering with internal departments to address client requirements while advancing the company’s strategic objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is required, alongside familiarity with database management systems and cloud platforms. Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues are essential. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams are also necessary.
Demonstrated success in Business Development, Sales, or Client Relationship Management, preferably within the pensions or financial services sector, is required.
Proven expertise in conducting comprehensive market research, analyzing data effectively, and developing strategic plans to drive business growth.
Exceptional proficiency in communication, presentation, and negotiation is required.
Proficient knowledge of pension administration, financial products, and regulatory compliance is essential.
A strong aptitude for networking and cultivating client relationships is essential.
Demonstrates strong self-motivation and consistently achieves established performance benchmarks without direct supervision.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a closely related field is required, with a Master’s degree serving as an advantageous credential.
Experience within the financial services or pensions industry in Africa is highly beneficial.
