Serve as the Chief Executive Officer, classified at the ADAM 1 grade level.

The monthly remuneration for this role ranges between Kshs. 260,000 and Kshs. 460,000.

This position is appointed for a three-year term, with eligibility for a one-time renewal.

Conducts a range of essential tasks and fulfills key obligations, including providing comprehensive support to team members, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring adherence to established company standards. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows, analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and maintaining accurate documentation of all activities. The individual is expected to troubleshoot issues proactively, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives to drive organizational success.

The Chief Executive Officer will oversee and execute the following responsibilities:

Offering strategic direction and guidance to senior management and staff members.

The annual budgets are prepared, and appropriate internal controls are established to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

The Board’s strategies, decisions, and policies are implemented and conveyed effectively.

Formulating and presenting annual business plans to the Board for approval is a key responsibility.

The Agency must maintain a robust management framework, incorporating well-defined succession planning to ensure continuity and stability in leadership roles.

Ensuring that all Board papers are meticulously prepared, remain pertinent to the agenda, and are distributed to Board members promptly.

Act as the intermediary between the Board and the Management, facilitating seamless communication and alignment of strategic objectives.

The Agency’s objectives are accomplished through dedicated efforts and strategic implementation of initiatives. This involves aligning actions with overarching goals, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and fostering a results-driven environment to meet and exceed established targets.

Implementing robust administrative frameworks, streamlined processes, and efficient systems.

Delivering consistent, comprehensive, and timely updates to the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative issues remains essential.

Duties include cultivating strong stakeholder relationships and elevating the Agency’s corporate reputation through strategic communication and consistent professional conduct.

The Agency’s operations are overseen on a day-to-day basis, with a primary focus on executing policies and programs dedicated to anti-doping initiatives, encompassing—but not limited to—the following areas.

We conduct comprehensive testing to ensure product quality and reliability. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to identify defects efficiently. Responsibilities include designing test cases, executing test plans, documenting results, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. Proficiency in automated testing tools and manual testing methodologies is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement are also required.

Conduct comprehensive investigations into suspected violations, gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and documenting findings to ensure thorough and impartial assessments. Prepare detailed reports outlining conclusions and recommendations based on established policies and legal standards. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and management teams, to address identified issues and implement corrective actions as necessary. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines throughout all investigative processes.

The role involves overseeing results processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established standards. Responsibilities include analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Additionally, the position requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline reporting procedures and enhance efficiency. A strong attention to detail and proficiency in data management tools are essential for success in this position.

Administrative assistance is provided to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee, ensuring efficient coordination and support for committee operations.

The Agency’s strategic plan, along with any additional plans, is formulated, developed, and implemented to effectively execute the Agency’s mandate.

Organization and supervision of employees, along with the management of staff resources, are essential responsibilities of this role.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Board from time to time.

The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the Secretary to the Board, fulfilling all associated duties and responsibilities.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the position. They should possess a degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of professional experience in a related industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in specific software or tools may be required, depending on the role. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

The position of Chief Executive Officer shall remain unfilled unless the candidate satisfies the following criteria:

Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, accompanied by a minimum of five years of professional experience in sports or administrative roles.

Possesses a strong understanding of anti-doping regulations, policies, and procedures, coupled with practical experience in relevant areas.

Ensures full compliance with the provisions outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

In addition to the primary responsibilities of the position, applicants must adhere to the specified application process as outlined by the Board Chairman. This includes submitting all required documentation through the designated channels and within the provided timeframe. Compliance with these procedures is essential for consideration in the selection process.
