Ensure adherence to applicable regulations by monitoring business and support functions daily, conducting regular reviews to confirm compliance with current legislation, regulations, internal policies, processes, documentation, and controls.
Facilitate the identification, evaluation, mitigation, and enforcement of compliance-related risks to uphold regulatory standards and organizational integrity.
Support the detection of suspicious transactions and ensure their timely reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer while maintaining strict confidentiality to prevent any unauthorized disclosure.
Review company processes, operational manuals, and systems to verify they remain current and compliant with applicable regulations, policies, mandates, escalations, controls, and other established requirements through ongoing assessments and updates.
Assist in identifying compliance deficiencies and propose corrective actions in coordination with the assistant manager of risk and compliance.
Ensure thorough follow-up with all relevant stakeholders regarding the completion of the Compliance Gap Analysis/Tracker.
From time to time, additional responsibilities may be assigned to the role.
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar role, coupled with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and advanced certifications or specialized training are highly desirable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is mandatory, and familiarity with emerging technologies is a plus. Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail are critical to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all responsibilities.
A Second Class Upper Degree in a finance-related discipline, a Bachelor of Laws, or a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required.
Acquiring knowledge of applicable regulations and laws is essential. It involves cultivating a thorough understanding of industry-specific legal frameworks and maintaining awareness of evolving statutory and compliance obligations.
