You will be responsible for overseeing key areas within the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence. Oversee and facilitate the development of individual case management plans through BIA and BID processes within the field offices.

Offer guidance and mentorship to community supervisors and workers, delivering on-the-job training and support to strengthen their case management skills and overall competencies.

Develop a comprehensive capacity-building initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of caseworkers and relevant stakeholders engaged in the BIA & BID processes.

Engage proactively in interagency coordination forums, including BID panels, CPWG sessions, and case conferences convened at the field office level.

Evaluate training schedules for caseworkers and deliver technical assistance and direction to ensure the successful execution of the BID/BIA process.

Ensure efficient management of data and documentation for cases at the camp level, while collaborating with MEAL assistants to maintain accurate recording and regular updates of children’s records and data in the CPMs database.

Assist in the development of a comprehensive contingency plan for the program as required.

Deliver specialized technical assistance for intricate cases and challenging technical issues.

Compile accurate and up-to-date progress reports that combine both quantitative and qualitative data regarding Child Protection initiatives, and contribute these findings to routine situation reports, as well as monthly and quarterly assessments.

Ensure the accurate organization and oversight of BID/BIA documentation at the camp level, encompassing thorough case reviews.

Conduct routine interviews and home visits with key individuals able to provide insights about the child, including the child themselves, their family members, leaders, teachers, and neighbors.

Attend interagency meetings at the camp level and actively collaborate with partners, agencies, governmental bodies, and the community to advocate for and resolve child protection concerns.

Ensure full adherence to all applicable Save the Children policies and guidelines, including those pertaining to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, security, equal opportunities, and any other relevant regulations.

Oversee the allocation of annual leave and time off for caseworkers, prioritizing minimal disruption to program operations.

Gather necessary data and collaborate with the MEAL team on a consistent monthly basis to verify accurate data collection and entry.

Foster collaborative relationships with external partners to proactively address and resolve child protection concerns.

To oversee the identification process, subsequent follow-up, and ongoing monitoring of children placed in alternative care arrangements, as well as the supervision of foster parents and guardianship arrangements.

Ensure that placements of children into alternative care settings comply strictly with SCI’s established procedures as well as the Kenya Alternative Care Guidelines (Guidelines for Alternative Care of Children in Kenya, 2011).

Gather field-level complaints and feedback, then promptly relay this information to MEAL officers to facilitate the updating of the CFRM database.

Escalate any complaints or serious feedback to the program manager and the designated child safeguarding focal point at the field office for further action.
