JOB PURPOSE
The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of study participants at designated healthcare facilities in Nairobi County. This role involves direct reporting to the Study Coordinator, ensuring alignment with study protocols and timelines.
Duties and obligations encompass a range of responsibilities centered on executing specialized tasks with precision and efficiency. Key functions involve overseeing designated projects, ensuring adherence to established protocols, and maintaining rigorous quality standards throughout all operational phases. Additionally, the role demands active participation in team meetings, collaborative problem-solving, and the timely completion of assigned deliverables. Proficiency in relevant software, tools, and methodologies is essential to fulfill these obligations effectively. Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are critical for success in this position.
Experts in the field will identify, engage, and register suitable candidates for the study by strictly following established protocol requirements.
Gather information in strict adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures.
Collected data was entered into the Android tablet system using Redcap.
Ensure the integrity, completeness, and security of collected data by adhering to study-specific SOPs and maintaining compliance with good clinical practices throughout the storage process.
Adhere to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) best practices and maintain strict confidentiality protocols.
Compile daily summaries of study participants screened and enrolled in the clinic.
The study participants must receive the interventions and procedures that are both suitable and correctly administered.
Ensure strict adherence of study participants to all prescribed study procedures throughout the duration of the trial.
Skilled professionals must exhibit a comprehensive grasp of the study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout all phases of study execution.
Conduct training sessions to educate facility staff on the utilization of PM+.
Submit biweekly reports outlining recruitment and enrollment progress in the study to the study Coordinator.
Monthly, complete data capture forms to accurately document modifications to study strategies, ensuring thorough and precise record-keeping for ongoing analysis and compliance.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a fundamental requirement for this role. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience in a related discipline, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is expected, and exceptional communication skills are necessary to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the ability to lead projects and manage deadlines is a key expectation.
A recognized institution must award a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili, which are the prevalent languages among our research participants, is required.
Applicants should possess a minimum of two years of hands-on research experience.
Proficiency in utilizing REDCAP for data collection is essential.
Proficiency in the study area, specifically Nairobi County, is essential.
We seek a candidate with a strong proficiency in computer applications and systems.
Must possess a valid Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection certification that remains current for at least 48 months from the date this advertisement is posted.
Requires strong interpersonal and written communication skills to maintain consistent collaboration with the study coordinator through email and Zoom meetings.
Collaborative professional capable of effectively engaging with fellow study personnel at the site.
