Role Description
Our client seeks a seasoned Bookkeeping Officer for a permanent, full-time position situated in Nairobi County, Kenya, with a hybrid work model offering occasional remote flexibility. This role encompasses the meticulous maintenance of precise and current financial records, which includes compiling and recording journal entries, updating ledgers, and conducting account reconciliations. The Bookkeeping Officer will contribute to the compilation of financial statements, monitor revenue and expenditures, and facilitate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures. Additional duties involve overseeing invoices, receipts, and payment processing, ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory regulations, and leveraging accounting software to produce management reports. The successful candidate will liaise with cross-functional teams, address finance-related inquiries, and identify opportunities to enhance bookkeeping workflows for improved efficiency and accuracy.
Seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills and prior experience in data management or related fields. The ideal individual must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing statistical software and tools for data analysis. A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer science, is required. Familiarity with programming languages like Python, R, or SQL is highly desirable. The applicant should exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to interpret complex datasets to derive actionable insights. Strong communication skills are essential to convey findings effectively to stakeholders. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, though not mandatory for highly skilled candidates.
