POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon is responsible for adhering to the quality standards of CURE as they provide hands-on surgical care to our patients. The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon is also responsible for teaching and training on the principles and techniques of plastic and reconstructive surgical care to other physicians who may be training at the hospital and oversees the practice of surgery by these physicians. This individual is charged with facilitating improvement in the quality of care, education and administration of the plastic and reconstructive surgery department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Compile and examine patient case histories, gathering pertinent information through comprehensive evaluations of individuals and discussions with family members.
Evaluate patients, assess the necessity for clinical laboratory tests, and analyze examination results and test findings to derive accurate conclusions.
Design and implement tailored plastic and reconstructive surgical solutions grounded in clinical assessment and patient-specific outcomes.
Establish protocols for both preoperative and postoperative care, encompassing the administration of sedatives, the formulation of dietary plans, and the preparation of the patient’s surgical site.
Execute surgical interventions while collaborating closely with the anesthesiologist to ensure seamless operational coordination.
Provide care to patients experiencing surgical shock, postoperative hemorrhage, and other related complications.
Oversee and guide operating room personnel in the execution of preoperative and postoperative care protocols, as well as operating room procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices.
Provide advanced training to resident plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the performance of plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures.
Competently and meticulously document all relevant patient data in the designated records.
Maintain the safety of patients throughout consultations, surgical procedures, and the postoperative care setting.
Collaborate with the Medical Director to maintain precise and sufficient inventory levels of medications and supplies.

These responsibilities may include supporting team members, maintaining workplace organization, and handling ad hoc assignments that arise during daily operations. Education and experience requirements for this role include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or business administration, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable position. Preferred candidates will hold an advanced degree or possess certifications pertinent to the industry, and at least two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Additionally, familiarity with industry-specific software, tools, or methodologies is highly desirable.
Hold an MD or DO degree from an accredited, reputable medical school.
Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty is highly preferred.
Holding a current and unrestricted medical license is essential for this role.
With a minimum of two years of professional experience attained within either a private practice setting or a hospital environment, candidates are expected to bring practical expertise and a solid understanding of clinical operations to the role.
Seeking professionals with a proven track record in the field of pediatric plastic surgery, demonstrating hands-on experience and specialized expertise in this surgical discipline.
Proficiency in working within developing nations is highly desirable.
