A minimum of twelve years of progressive experience in relevant fields is required, including at least three years serving in a Principal Digital Health Officer role or an equivalent leadership position.

A bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Systems, Health Records and Information Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Epidemiology, Health Economics and Policy, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Data Science and Analytics, or Computer Science is required.

A master’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Systems, Health Records and Information Science, ICT, Epidemiology, Health Economics and Policy, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Data Science and Analytics, or Computer Science is required.

Registration with an appropriate and accredited regulatory authority is required, as applicable.

Completed a Leadership course of minimum four (4) weeks’ duration from an accredited institution.

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing a variety of computer software and digital tools with a high level of skill and efficiency.

Proven excellence is evidenced through consistent job performance and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Crafting, executing, and evaluating robust policies, strategies, standards, guidelines, legislation, and regulations governing aggregate health information systems is a key responsibility.

In collaboration with national programs and projects, the role involves developing comprehensive indicator manuals and establishing precise, measurable objectives to guide program success.

Develop and enforce standardized reporting formats while ensuring data elements are appropriately aligned with specified reporting requirements.

Performing routine assessments of consolidated data and patient-specific reporting formats to pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.

Design and implement comprehensive visualization dashboards and geographic information system (GIS) solutions to enable real-time monitoring of critical data streams.

Harnessing integrated health information systems tools, we automate the processes of data collection, aggregation, and reporting enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Ensuring data relevance and system adherence to health data standards and regulatory frameworks

Implementing and overseeing automatic indicator reporting and mapping systems

Implementing comprehensive data recovery strategies, backup policies, and breach mitigation measures

Designing qualitative and quantitative surveys to determine stakeholder information needs

Developing concise data-driven narratives with supporting charts and visualizations

Defining objectives for monitoring health information systems to improve data quality

Analyzing and sharing reports on key performance indicators and policy development

Developing reports for program design and implementing early warning systems

Engaging stakeholders and programs to identify indicators requiring monitoring

Planning, testing, and integrating new technologies into existing health information systems

Developing strategies to ensure accessibility and usability of health data for end users
