Finance employees manage the receipt, accounting, and oversight of sacred funds—generously donated in accordance with God’s commandments—to protect and advance the Church’s religious mission under the guidance of senior ecclesiastical leaders. This entry-level professional role involves applying accounting principles to specialized financial records and reports, with responsibility for maintaining a precise and comprehensive general ledger and assisting in the preparation of basic financial statements.
Responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing team performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Duties include conducting performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Additionally, the role involves coordinating project timelines, delegating tasks, and monitoring progress to meet organizational goals. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in data analysis are required to drive efficiency and productivity.
Compiling journal entries along with necessary adjustments forms a core responsibility of this role, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting. This involves systematically recording transactions, reconciling discrepancies, and applying necessary corrections to maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records. Proficiency in accounting principles and attention to detail are essential to execute these tasks effectively.
Performing general ledger file maintenance, conducting account reconciliations and reviews, and resolving outstanding ledger items are key responsibilities of this role.
Review expenditures to ensure alignment with the established budget, perform required reconciliations, carry out detailed investigations, and record any necessary correcting entries.
Assisting with the preparation of diverse financial estimates and expense reports forms a key part of this role.
The auditor is tasked with reviewing project accounts to ensure adherence to established policies and regulations, while also communicating with relevant stakeholders regarding the progress and status of these projects.
Assisting in the development and mentorship of priesthood leaders as well as providing guidance to junior accounting staff are among the key responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development is mandatory. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are necessary. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams are also required. Familiarity with version control systems like Git is expected. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management—with a specialization in financial accounting—is required.
Professional certification and affiliation with recognized accounting or auditing organizations, such as CPA(K), ARCA, or CISA, are required.
Professionals in this role must possess a thorough understanding of the accountant code of conduct, coupled with a strong foundation in financial and accounting theory and policies, and must also demonstrate familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
Have a minimum of four to six years of professional accounting experience.
Extensive experience in operating computerized accounting systems is essential for this role.
We require strong proficiency in computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint, along with hands-on experience in these tools. Familiarity with Oracle or People soft platforms will be considered a valuable asset.
