What You’ll Do
At DAKOTA, you will assume leadership of the AI Operations team from the outset, overseeing its delivery, expanding its impact, and demonstrating its value. Your team will develop automation solutions and intelligent agents for internal applications while serving as trusted advisors, supporting Engineering in embedding AI into customer-facing products. Here, you will merge innovative AI technologies with meaningful initiatives that drive digital and financial inclusion across Africa.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity, managing team performance through goal-setting and regular feedback, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to align business objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying process improvements to enhance workflow, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment that supports employee engagement and development. This role also requires analyzing performance data to inform strategic decisions, reporting directly to senior leadership, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Oversee a team of two AI Ops Engineers, assuming full accountability for their project delivery, technical development, and routine operational responsibilities.
Efficiently prioritize tasks by skillfully managing competing requests from various teams, leveraging a structured prioritization framework that you will both implement and refine.
Develop and deploy automations and intelligent agents designed to significantly enhance operational efficiency for both internal teams and customer-facing personnel.
Maintain the robust operation of the AI infrastructure to ensure seamless scalability across a workforce of over 2,500 employees.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI tools and technologies, discerning between fleeting trends and genuinely impactful innovations to maintain a competitive edge in the field.
Assist in enhancing the organization’s AI training initiatives, engaging various teams such as Engineering, to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with broader objectives.
The technical framework encompasses a diverse array of systems, tools, and platforms integral to daily operations and project execution. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with expertise in database management systems like SQL or NoSQL. Proficiency in cloud platforms—including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud—is highly valued, as is experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Additionally, knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible is required. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams are critical for troubleshooting and optimizing technical environments efficiently.
Professional Rewrite:
Experience with advanced AI and agentic frameworks is essential, including proficiency with Claude, Claude Code, and Anthropic’s suite of tools, alongside Lang Chain and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), as well as Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) or comparable agentic frameworks.
Automation & Prototyping: Develops scripting solutions, implements workflow tools, leverages AI-assisted development techniques, and accelerates rapid prototyping using platforms such as Tercel and Railway.
Enterprise Tooling professionals are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated identity management solutions using Microsoft Entra, alongside integrating and optimizing internal platforms, Notion, and HiBob systems to enhance operational efficiency and streamline workflows. This role requires expertise in identity automation frameworks, cross-platform integrations, and process optimization to ensure seamless collaboration and data consistency across enterprise systems.
Twelve months of operational experience with automations built using Claude, Notion, HiBob, and Entry is already in place.
Our Approach
Deliver tangible results by actively constructing and deploying functional automations and agents, rather than solely offering recommendations.
Demonstrate tangible value initially with a small team of two engineers, subsequently scaling efforts based on proven outcomes.
A strong emphasis on product orientation is essential, requiring the ability to view internal teams as customers and develop practical, user-centric tooling solutions.
Evaluate emerging AI tools based on their tangible benefits rather than flashy marketing claims.
