Job Summary:

The Partnerships Associate will assist in overseeing Chance Kenya’s portfolio of partner educational institutions (PEI’s), ensuring the effectiveness and long-term viability of our ISA investments. This position demands a skilled professional capable of fostering strong partner relationships, evaluating data to identify growth opportunities, and driving progress toward the department’s strategic objectives with minimal supervision.

Oversee a range of critical duties, including the management of daily operations to ensure seamless workflow, the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive organizational growth, and the coordination of cross-functional teams to achieve key performance targets. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail in executing tasks, and the ability to adapt swiftly to evolving business needs. We are seeking a dynamic Partnership Management professional to drive strategic alliances and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire partnership lifecycle, from initial outreach and negotiation to ongoing performance evaluation and renewal. Responsibilities include identifying new partnership opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, the role requires strong interpersonal skills to build trust, negotiate terms, and resolve conflicts effectively. A proven track record in partnership management, business development, or a related field is essential, along with excellent communication and analytical abilities. Familiarity with contract management and data-driven decision-making will be advantageous.

Assist the Partnership Manager in cultivating and sustaining robust, enduring partnerships with existing collaborators, addressing their requirements effectively and uncovering new avenues for collaboration.

Provide support in the creation, establishment, and oversight of partnership agreements and contractual arrangements.

Play a key role in the ongoing assessment of current partnerships to confirm their alignment with Chance’s vision and strategic objectives.

Design and implement tailored engagement strategies for each primary engagement initiative (PEI), specifying monthly and quarterly touchpoints, conducting thorough performance evaluations, and identifying targeted improvement measures.

Monitor partnership agreements to verify compliance with SLAs, reporting deadlines, and system usage requirements, ensuring all PEI’s adhere to established standards throughout the engagement.

We provide comprehensive data analysis, reporting, and strategic support, ensuring accurate insights and informed decision-making. This role involves gathering, processing, and interpreting complex datasets to identify trends, metrics, and key performance indicators. Additionally, you will generate detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels. Strategic support encompasses collaborating with leadership to develop data-driven solutions, aligning business goals with actionable recommendations.

Oversee the upkeep and refinement of the partner dashboard and tracker to maintain absolute precision and adherence to monthly reporting guidelines.

By analyzing data insights, identify emerging trends, uncover opportunities for process improvement, and foster partnership growth within the department.

Compile comprehensive, structured, and insightful reports on the partnership pipeline, progress toward established targets, and critical performance indicators for distribution to internal stakeholders.

Offer continuous assistance to PEI staff regarding system operation, issue escalation, and software updates.

Direct oversight of the annual audit process for all designated PEI’s is required, with strict adherence to partnership agreements, reporting protocols, and payment schedules.

The provision of disbursement and portfolio support services ensures the accurate and timely allocation of funds alongside comprehensive oversight of investment portfolios. This role demands meticulous attention to detail to manage financial transactions, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain compliance with established policies and regulatory standards. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, and a deep understanding of portfolio management principles to effectively monitor performance and mitigate risks. Additionally, the position requires excellent communication abilities to liaise with stakeholders, provide clear reporting, and address inquiries promptly.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, SAM, Communications & Community, Repayments, and Data to ensure funds are disbursed to partners promptly and with precision.

Verify that all cohorts within the PEI comply with commitment fees and are active before any disbursements are processed.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.

* Strong expertise in full-stack development, including front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Django).

* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, containerization).

* Familiarity with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data structures.

* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

* Strong collaboration and communication abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

* Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.

* Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, International Development, Marketing, or a related discipline is required.

With a minimum of two to three years of demonstrated expertise in partnerships, business development, data analysis, or project management, candidates should ideally possess prior experience within the education sector, financial services, or impact investing.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, demonstrated through a track record of effectively addressing routine and moderately complex operational challenges.

Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at cultivating strong connections, fostering relationships with stakeholders from varied backgrounds, and delivering information with clarity and precision in both written and oral formats.

Requires exceptional mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
