The Lead Systems Integrator & Developer oversees the complete development and reliability of the organization’s essential data integrations. This position involves designing and maintaining the data infrastructure for an expanding international school network spanning multiple campuses, serving as the chief architect of the school’s integration backbone. Responsibilities include building and sustaining automated data flows that link HR, MIS, Library, and Google Workspace platforms. The role encompasses the full delivery lifecycle—from collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, through architecture, development, and deployment, to continuous monitoring and documentation.
Applicants must possess a relevant academic qualification, typically a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, alongside a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Prior experience in a leadership or management position is highly advantageous, as is a demonstrated track record of successful project delivery. Additionally, familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards is required to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.
A minimum of three years of experience in a junior or middle-level developer position is required.
Experienced in creating and managing production-level Python scripts to ensure seamless automated data synchronization across enterprise platforms.
Experience in developing and overseeing Zero-Touch onboarding and offboarding workflows between
MIS and Directory Services expertise, particularly with Google Workspace or a comparable platform, is required.
Experienced in designing, constructing, and deploying API-driven integration bridges to streamline and automate manual business processes.
Proven capability to manage the entire project lifecycle, beginning with requirements gathering alongside non-technical stakeholders and extending through deployment, monitoring, and the final documentation handoff.
Demonstrates expertise in deploying structured logging frameworks, configuring alert systems, and establishing foundational observability practices to support unattended scheduled jobs within production infrastructure.
Added Advantage
Post-graduate credentials in Data Engineering or Cloud Architecture, such as the Google Professional Data Engineer or the AWS Certified Data Analytics certifications, are required.
Professional credentials encompassing Power BI, Advanced Data Analytics, or Google Workspace are required for this role.
Proficiency in Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019 is essential.
Professional candidates will possess a background in K-12 education environments or direct experience with School Management Information Systems (MIS).
Proficiency in managing and integrating data across diverse multi-campus or multi-entity environments, with a focus on consolidating and reconciling information across organizational or geographic boundaries.
Proficiency in transitioning legacy on-premise scripts to modern, serverless architectures or containerized cloud solutions is required.
Extensive background in leading or senior roles, with a strong focus on overseeing technical documentation, enforcing code standards, and facilitating knowledge transfer for a small team.
Proficient in ILS platforms, particularly Doha, with expertise in leveraging REST API integration to streamline patron and catalogue management operations.
