What You’ll Do

At DAKOTA, you will assume leadership of the AI Operations team from the outset, spearheading delivery, expanding its capabilities, and demonstrating its impact. Your team will develop automation solutions and intelligent agents for internal applications while serving as trusted advisors to Engineering, guiding the integration of AI into customer-facing products. Join us in merging innovative AI technologies with mission-driven work that advances digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

Key responsibilities include overseeing project execution, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget constraints, and serving as the primary liaison between stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and alignment. You will be tasked with identifying potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and monitoring progress through regular reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, allocate resources efficiently, and maintain high standards of quality across all initiatives. Leadership in driving process improvements and fostering a results-oriented culture will also be a core aspect of this role.

Lead a team of two AI Ops Engineers, overseeing their performance, project delivery, and ongoing development while managing their day-to-day responsibilities.

Manage competing requests from various teams with precision by implementing and continuously refining a prioritization framework tailored to your organization’s evolving needs.

Develop and deploy automations and agents designed to enhance the efficiency and productivity of internal teams and customer-facing staff, delivering measurable improvements in workflow performance.

Maintain the robustness and performance of the AI tooling infrastructure, ensuring it scales effectively to support the needs of over 2,500 employees.

Continuously monitor advancements in AI tools and technologies, discerning between fleeting trends and genuinely impactful innovations.

Assist in enhancing AI training processes across the broader organization, specifically for Engineering teams.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Addresses complex technical challenges through innovative problem-solving and stays current with emerging technologies to enhance system performance and security. Requires proficiency in [specific technologies, e.g., cloud platforms, programming languages, frameworks], strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Prior experience in [specific roles or industries] and a degree in [relevant field] are preferred.

Experienced professionals in AI and agentic frameworks should be adept with tools such as Claude, Claude Code, Anthropic tooling, Lang Chain, MCP, and Google ADK (or comparable agentic frameworks).

Automation & Prototyping: Develop and implement scripting solutions, streamline workflows with specialized tools, leverage AI-assisted development methodologies, and deliver rapid prototypes using platforms such as Tercel and Railway.

Enterprise Tooling encompasses solutions such as Entry for identity automation, internal platforms, Notion for documentation and collaboration, and HiBob for HR and people management integrations.

For over a year, our organization has successfully deployed and maintained automations across key platforms, including Claude, Notion, HiBob, and Entry, all of which are currently operational in the production environment.

Our Approach

Develop tangible solutions instead of merely offering recommendations, as this is a practical team dedicated to delivering fully functional automations and agents.

Demonstrate the value proposition initially, followed by strategic expansion; commence the initiative with a two-engineer team, validate measurable impact, and subsequently scale operations accordingly.

A product-oriented approach is essential, requiring you to view internal teams as valued customers and develop effective tooling solutions tailored to their needs.

Cut through the hype — evaluate emerging AI tools on practical value, not marketing buzz

What You Need
