The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of participants for the study at designated healthcare facilities within Nairobi County. This role will involve direct reporting to the Study Coordinator.
The position involves executing specialized duties and fulfilling key responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the team. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, overseeing project execution, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. Additionally, the role requires coordinating with cross-functional departments, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing process improvements where necessary. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential for this role. Proficiency in relevant software tools and a solid understanding of industry standards are also required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, and enrolling eligible participants in accordance with study protocols to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
Gather information in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
Data entry tasks involve systematically inputting gathered information into the Android tablet-based Redcap system.
Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure handling of all collected data while maintaining compliance with study-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and established clinical best practices.
Ensure adherence to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) practices and confidentiality protocols.
Compose concise daily summaries of study participants who have been screened and enrolled in the clinic.
The study participants must be administered the correct interventions and procedures as outlined in the protocol.
Ensure strict adherence of study participants to all outlined study procedures throughout the duration of the trial.
Capable of articulating and applying the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the study with precision and thoroughness is essential.
At all times throughout the study procedures, adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) must be maintained.
Provide comprehensive training to facility personnel on the PM+ system to ensure proficient usage and adherence to operational protocols.
Submit twice-weekly summaries of recruitment and enrollment into the study to the study Coordinator
Monthly, complete data capture forms to document any modifications made to study strategies.
Essential requirements:
A recognized institution must have awarded a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.
Proficient in both English and Kiswahili, as these are the primary languages used among our research participants.
Requires a minimum of two years of hands-on research experience.
Proficient expertise in utilizing REDCAP for data collection is required.
Proficiency in the Nairobi County study area is essential for this role.
Proficient in utilizing computer software and hardware with a high degree of proficiency.
Certified in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection, with certification valid for at least the next 48 months from the date of this advertisement, is a mandatory requirement.
Must possess strong communication abilities, including consistent interaction with the study coordinator through email and Zoom platforms.
