Lead all department staff—including Assistant Facilities Managers, Custodial, Grounds, and Security—across one temple or up to four smaller temples. Oversee capital expenditure R&I projects for facilities, systems, and grounds by conducting inspections, submitting reports, verifying compliance with drawings and specifications, coordinating with local authorities, securing permits, tracking project timelines, and arranging furniture and materials delivery and installation. Consistently supervise the performance of other employees, which may involve managing a diverse workforce. Serve as the foremost facility expert within the organization.

Consistently oversee and coordinate the tasks and activities of team members, which may encompass a diverse workforce.
In collaboration with the HR department, the incumbent is entrusted with the authority to onboard new employees, terminate existing ones, and propose advancements, promotions, or other status changes for individuals within their direct reporting structure.
Experienced professionals in this role oversee a team of 10 to 20 employees while providing supervision to two or more direct reports.
Responsible for maintaining the temple and its auxiliary facilities within the complex, which encompasses approximately 70,000 square feet and includes structures such as patron housing, a visitor’s center, the temple president’s residence, the Missionary Training Center (MTC), and area offices.
Maintains adherence to established standards consistently, both during periods of high usage and when the temple is not open to the public.
Tasked with cultivating and sustaining productive relationships with approximately 3-4 key stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are aligned with project objectives and organizational goals while fostering transparent communication throughout the engagement.
Consistently oversee and guide the performance of team members, which may encompass a diverse workforce, ensuring productivity and adherence to organizational standards.
Demonstrating a high level of expertise, the Temple Facilities Services team will receive on-site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring to enhance their job knowledge, skill proficiency, and overall performance.
Tasked with executing temple maintenance guidelines and materials, as well as evaluating enhanced maintenance approaches, systems, and equipment.
Overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual plan, this role involves managing project and operational costs, as well as ensuring the maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, audiovisual, and computer systems.
Oversee departmental labor expenses, encompassing both contract and employee costs, as well as third-party engagements.
Collaborates in executing all concluding project closure procedures, such as compiling as-built documentation, organizing archives, completing the close out process, issuing the letter of substantial completion, managing warranty operations, and preparing the letter of recommendation.
Ensure that all projects adhere strictly to the specified design documents and meet the established standards requirements throughout the entire completion process.
Effectively collaborates with the Temple President, other Priesthood leaders, supervisors, department specialists, local government officials, architects, general contractors, and community leaders to address project needs and operational requirements as necessary.
Delivers consistent updates regarding project advancements, quality benchmarks, encountered challenges, and the acquisition of necessary materials and equipment.
Monitor project schedules to verify delivery within the established timeframes, ensuring adherence to approved deadlines.
Qualifications
Required:
A bachelor’s degree in facilities management, the building industry, project management, or a closely related discipline is required for this role.
With a minimum of six years of hands-on experience in the facilities’ management sector, you bring a wealth of practical knowledge and industry expertise to the role. Your proven track record demonstrates a deep understanding of operational efficiency, maintenance strategies, and compliance with regulatory standards. Whether overseeing large-scale facilities or optimizing workflows, you have consistently delivered measurable improvements in cost control, safety protocols, and asset longevity. Your ability to manage cross-functional teams and align facility operations with organizational goals ensures seamless day-to-day functionality and long-term sustainability.
A minimum of ten years of combined education and professional experience, or an equivalent combination thereof, is required.
A comprehensive knowledge of facilities systems and their operational workflows, including boiler and chiller maintenance, electrical motor controls, audiovisual setups, electrical distribution networks, and plumbing infrastructure, is required.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a strong command of computer applications.
Proficient in both spoken and written English communication is required.
Maintains a polished and professional appearance and conducts oneself with decorum at all times.
The position may require meeting certain physical demands to execute essential duties effectively, including prolonged periods of sitting and operating computer monitors and related equipment.
Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred:
Experience in temple operations, including ceremonial duties, administrative support, and visitor assistance, is required. Candidates should be proficient in maintaining sacred spaces, coordinating religious events, and ensuring adherence to cultural and spiritual protocols. Familiarity with temple management software, record-keeping, and community engagement initiatives is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and a deep respect for religious traditions are essential for this role.
