Our esteemed client in the hospitality sector is recruiting a diligent and committed Kitchen Steward to reinforce their back-of-house operations. This position entails upholding stringent cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, meticulously washing dishes and equipment, managing waste disposal, and strictly adhering to food safety and hygiene guidelines in a dynamic five-star hospitality setting. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing and mentoring a team of professionals, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all other kitchen equipment.
Ensure kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation areas are consistently kept clean and sanitary.
Foster meticulous management of kitchen equipment and supplies, ensuring their proper handling, storage, and organization at all times.
Provide essential assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel in food preparation and routine kitchen operations as needed.
Responsible for the proper handling and disposal of waste materials in compliance with established hygiene and safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep in garbage collection areas at all times.
Regularly replenish cleaning supplies and promptly notify supervisors of any low stock levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.
Adhere rigorously to all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations and protocols at all times.
Provide support in ensuring cleanliness standards are upheld during conferences, banquets, and large-scale events.
Maintain impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards consistent with five-star hospitality protocols.
Address all cleaning requests from the kitchen and food & beverage teams without delay, ensuring efficient and timely resolution.
Assist in coordinating comprehensive cleaning schedules and perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the kitchen facility.
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of three years of experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, version control systems like Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is required. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are also necessary.
Obtain a diploma or certificate in hospitality to qualify for this position.
A diploma or certification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline would be considered advantageous.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in the role of Kitchen Steward within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
Preferred applicants should possess prior experience within a fast-paced or five-star hospitality environment.
Proficiency in food safety protocols, hygiene best practices, and sanitation regulations is required.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the safe handling and operation of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Capable of maintaining physical fitness and sustaining prolonged periods of standing.
