Job Summary: –

To deliver independent and objective assurance and consulting services, enhancing the Bank’s operational effectiveness and overall performance through value-added insights and strategic recommendations.

Key duties encompass overseeing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines. Additionally, this role involves analyzing performance metrics to identify trends, proposing data-driven improvements, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-specific software, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to stakeholders are essential. Collaboration with leadership to align initiatives with strategic objectives, troubleshooting operational challenges, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement also fall within the purview of this position.

Participate actively in the formulation and development of the annual audit plan, contributing to its structure and content.

To ensure adherence to company policies, legal mandates, and industry-leading operational standards, this role involves organizing and executing audits that align with established auditing protocols.

Observe engagement levels, document findings, and propose actionable recommendations to rectify deficiencies, enhance operational efficiency, and minimize expenditures.

Assist in developing audit programs and executing risk-based audits across operational functions and business activities.

Recommend robust systems of internal controls and verification processes to ensure operational integrity, compliance with regulatory standards, and the mitigation of financial and operational risks. These systems should include comprehensive monitoring mechanisms, clear accountability frameworks, and regular auditing procedures to detect and prevent discrepancies, fraud, or inefficiencies. Additionally, provide guidance on best practices for risk management, including the implementation of segregation of duties, authorization protocols, and automated controls where applicable.

The implementation progress of the external auditors’ recommendations will be closely monitored and tracked to ensure timely and effective execution.

Conduct audit investigations as needed, in accordance with requests from BAC and senior management.

Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of the internal audit manual to ensure its accuracy and relevance.

Aid in the compilation of audit reports, inquiries, and findings.

Evaluate the robustness, sufficiency, and implementation of accounting, financial, and operational controls while fostering their optimal effectiveness.

To design and execute audits, ensuring adherence to bank policies, legal mandates, and industry best practices.

Execute tasks as directed by management and the Board Audit Committee (BAC) as needed.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Economics.

Qualified candidates will hold professional credentials such as CPA, ARCA, or CISA.

Effective verbal articulation and the ability to produce clear, concise reports.

Proficiency in IT auditing practices is considered a valuable asset for this role.
