Performs a variety of tasks including coordinating schedules, managing correspondence, and maintaining records. Produce precise diagnostic images by skillfully positioning the transducer, observing the display, interpreting signals, optimizing beam strength and focus, identifying artifacts that may resemble abnormalities, and documenting the images accordingly.

Conduct electrocardiograms (ECG’s), 2D echocardiograms, advanced echocardiographic studies, and stress echocardiograms as part of clinical evaluations.

Support the performance of dobutamine stress echocardiography and contrast echocardiography for both inpatients and outpatients.

Compose detailed echocardiogram reports, which must subsequently receive approval from a cardiologist before being finalized.

Support cardiologists in conducting Trans-Esophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) procedures.

Deliver high-quality patient care and comfort by meticulously preparing individuals for echocardiogram procedures, offering clear explanations of the examination steps, addressing any inquiries, and providing attentive ambulatory assistance.

By generating detailed assessments of heart wall thickness, chamber dimensions, and blood flow parameters—including direction and velocity—and juxtaposing these findings against established clinical benchmarks, you will enable informed clinical decision-making.

To guarantee exam accuracy, meticulously review the patient’s medical record for essential clinical details such as patient history, lab results, and physician orders. Additionally, gather any required clinical information directly from the patient and verify requisitions against the physicians’ orders to ensure alignment.

Ensure patient safety by strictly following infection-control policies and procedures while providing first aid and assisting the emergency response team.

To ensure quality assurance and control, perform preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with calibration requirements, manufacturer specifications, and established procedures. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions through systematic troubleshooting, and coordinate repair services as needed. Additionally, maintain accurate and up-to-date inventories of all equipment.

Facilitate the expeditious completion of echocardiographic procedures by efficiently prioritizing, coordinating, and scheduling patient appointments, while ensuring the timely release of diagnostic reports.

Collaborate closely with Biomedical Engineers to uphold timely equipment maintenance standards.

Maintain precise documentation of conducted tests by accurately entering data into the computer system, report forms, and batch registers.

Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

Engage actively in unit-specific continuing education initiatives and facilitate the implementation of quality control programs across the department.

Support the manager by gathering and tracking unit-specific quality and performance metrics to ensure data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Engage in departmental initiatives, including public screenings focused on heart disease, medical outreach programs, Heart Day observances, and professional conferences.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or business administration, along with at least three years of professional experience in a related discipline. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Familiarity with project management methodologies and regulatory compliance standards is also required. Additionally, the ideal applicant will exhibit leadership qualities and the capacity to mentor junior staff members.

Education

A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Radiography, along with a Higher Diploma or Certificate in Echocardiography from an accredited university or college, is required.

Candidates must possess valid registration with the appropriate professional body.

Holders must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

A current and valid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for this position.
