Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to enhance organizational performance, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. Lead cross-functional teams to drive project execution, fostering collaboration and accountability at every stage. Oversee departmental operations, optimizing processes to maximize efficiency and productivity while maintaining high standards of quality. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and implement corrective actions to sustain continuous improvement. Serve as a primary liaison between senior management and operational staff, facilitating transparent communication and strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards, mitigating risks and upholding corporate governance.

Assist in the structured compilation and management of WCR project documentation to facilitate efficient retrieval and foster collaborative knowledge exchange.

Review the WUF13 reports and proceedings to extract and consolidate the primary themes and key arguments presented in the WCR 2026 discussions.

Assist in coordinating both internal and external post-launch events, prepare essential background materials, and draft reports as required.

Review all WCR post-launch reports to meticulously verify the precision and uniformity of information as well as the cited sources.

Conduct comprehensive desk-based research to assess the effects of WCR2026.

Provide support in executing literature reviews, gathering data, and performing qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform the conceptual framework of WCR2028.

Offer adaptable and on-demand assistance as directed and assigned by the supervisor.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to carry out additional tasks essential for advancing the section’s operational goals and objectives.

Proficient in written and verbal communication, with a demonstrated ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. Strong problem-solving aptitude and adaptability to evolving priorities. Exceptional organizational skills, enabling efficient management of multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications, with a capacity for quick learning of new tools. Experience in team collaboration and leadership, fostering a productive and inclusive work environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively within a team setting.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an advanced academic program at the graduate level, equivalent to a second university degree or higher.

Currently enrolled in the final academic year of an undergraduate university degree program (or equivalent), with a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree, or higher qualifications such as a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent credential.

Proficient in utilizing standard software applications within the Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Have shown a strong dedication to the United Nations’ mission and a deep personal alignment with the principles outlined in its Charter.

Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals, embracing cultural and ideological differences with openness and respect for varied perspectives.

A background in Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Geography, Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related field is preferred. Familiarity with research methodologies, data collection and analysis, as well as proficiency in project management tools is advantageous. Candidates applying for the UN Internship Program need not possess prior professional work experience.

A relevant academic background is essential for this internship position. Candidates must either be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s or equivalent degree program, a master’s or Ph.D. program, or have already completed one of these qualifications.
