Position Summary

Reporting to the Team Leader – Merchandising, the Field Merchandising Representative (FMR) will conduct merchandising tasks, sustain shelf visibility, guarantee stock availability, assist with returns governance, and collect market intelligence across designated outlets. Serving as the primary operational liaison between the company and the trade environment, the FMR will uphold brand presence and operational standards in the field.

Verify that products are sanitized, appropriately arranged, merchandised effectively, easily accessible to customers, and placed in the correct locations.

Ensure that point-of-sale systems and promotional materials are correctly arranged, updated, and kept in optimal condition at all times.

Track competitor presence, pricing strategies, and stock movement on shelves.

Responsible for overseeing stock levels, ensuring optimal inventory rotation, and maintaining accurate records to prevent overstocking or shortages. Monitors expiry dates and prioritizes the use of first-in, first-out (FIFO) methodologies to minimize waste and enhance product freshness. Collaborates with procurement and sales teams to align stock availability with demand forecasts, adjusting orders as needed to optimize efficiency. Verifies received goods against purchase orders, inspecting for quality and discrepancies, then accurately logs inventory into the system. Addresses stock discrepancies promptly, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions to uphold inventory integrity.

Oversee inventory levels and initiate immediate escalation for any instances of insufficient stock.

Maintain rigorous adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) stock rotation protocols to ensure timely and accurate processing of inventory.

Proactively detect stock nearing expiration and promptly elevate any concerns to appropriate stakeholders.

Remove damaged or expired inventory from shelves in compliance with established company protocols and guidelines.

Analyze outlet stock levels and maintain appropriate inventory quantities by evaluating consumption patterns and demand forecasts.

Returns Management & Governance involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of returned products, ensuring efficient processing from receipt to final disposition. This role requires analyzing return trends, identifying root causes of returns, and implementing corrective actions to minimize future returns. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, customer service, and quality assurance. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing return policies, tracking return metrics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Proficiency in data analysis tools and experience in supply chain operations are highly valued, while a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement is critical.

Ensure the precise recording and documentation of all returned outlets.

Verify that Goods Return Notes (GRNs) are accurately prepared, including all required supporting documentation.

Conduct a thorough physical inspection of all returns prior to their scheduled collection to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Please notify management without delay whenever any returns appear questionable or lack clear explanations.

Facilitate the reconciliation and accountability processes pertaining to returns management, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout all stages.

The Outlet Relationship Manager is tasked with cultivating and sustaining strong partnerships with retail and wholesale outlets to drive sales and enhance brand presence. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring outlets meet performance targets. Additionally, the position requires regular communication with outlet partners to address concerns, provide support, and gather market feedback. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in sales, account management, or a related field, along with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. A minimum requirement of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is necessary for consideration.
