About the Role

The Audit Manager will oversee full audit engagements, from initial planning to final execution, maintaining high-quality outcomes, adherence to auditing standards, and strong leadership of audit teams. Additionally, you will serve as a pivotal client liaison and drive ongoing enhancements in audit quality and operational efficiency.

Oversee and execute critical duties, including but not limited to managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring deliverables meet established standards. Additionally, analyze performance metrics to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements, while liaising with stakeholders to align objectives with organizational goals. The role demands strong problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to adapt swiftly to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Conduct full-scope audit engagements, guiding each project from initial planning through to final execution.

Conduct a thorough evaluation of critical audit risks and implement suitable audit procedures to address them.

Examine audit working papers, financial statements, and associated supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Supervise, guide, and cultivate the professional growth of junior audit team members while ensuring high standards of performance and adherence to audit protocols.

Oversee project schedules to guarantee the punctual finalization of audit documentation.

Collaborate with clients, finance teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and foster strong business relationships.

Prepare, examine, and validate management correspondence, audit conclusions, and finalization documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Ensure adherence to all relevant auditing, accounting, and regulatory standards to maintain compliance and uphold organizational integrity.

Assist in enhancing audit methodologies, tools, and internal quality control frameworks.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on audit experience, ideally gained at an audit or professional services firm.

With a background in one of Kenya’s top 10 audit firms or a similarly reputable practice, you possess the necessary experience to excel in this role.

Proven track record in leading audit engagements and meticulously examining audit documentation.

A strong grasp of audit planning methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and the processes required for audit completion is essential.

Skilled in the preparation or examination of statutory financial statements.

Proven expertise in auditing and accounting standards is essential.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team, possessing a minimum of three years of experience in a related field. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential for collaborating across teams and stakeholders. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, the capacity to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

A recognized professional qualification such as CPA (Kenya), ARCA, IC AEW, CIA, or an equivalent credential is required.

Professionals nearing completion of their qualifications will also be given consideration.

Desirable

Individuals applying for this position should possess practical experience conducting statutory audits in Kenya, along with a thorough understanding of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) compliance requirements.

Proficiency in the Companies Act (Kenya) and familiarity with local reporting obligations are essential for this role.

Possesses practical experience utilizing audit software solutions or implementing paperless audit systems.

Professional experience with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), collective auditing processes, or multinational clients is advantageous.

Proficiency in accounting software platforms, including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Zoho Books, is required.
