The Associate MEP Engineer collaborates in the execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for Colo’s data center construction initiatives. This position aids in upholding MEP work standards at the highest level while adhering to project-specific parameters, including cost efficiency, timelines, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.

A dual-control verification is conducted on the finalized RFP before its distribution to consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Craft preliminary evaluations of proposals submitted by consultants, contractors, and suppliers, and develop comprehensive analyses for review.
Review and assess the responsibility matrix for all projects to detect potential scope overlaps, deficiencies, and unauthorized expansions.
Support the development and review of design and project risk logs, ensuring accurate documentation and proactive identification of potential risks.
Examine and provide feedback on the project schedule submitted by contractors and suppliers.
Oversee the installation of MEP systems and provide guidance, supervision, and management of MEP subcontractors’ activities.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align project timelines, allocate necessary resources, and coordinate inspections in support of the overall project schedule.
Provides technical assistance to customers experiencing issues with products or services, addressing inquiries via phone, email, or chat. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, offering step-by-step guidance to resolve technical difficulties efficiently. Upon receipt, designs, drawings, schematics, and documentation from consultants undergo an initial evaluation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provide support in facilitating resolution discussions, as needed, between MEP Subcontractors throughout the construction phase by documenting all interactions and verifying their completion.
Maintain a comprehensive log of RBIs and technical submittals to guarantee prompt responses and feedback to contractors.
Ensure the assembly of all necessary documentation as part of the testing and commissioning process for MEP equipment.
Oversee the procurement, organization, and maintenance of all essential materials required for commissioning, including load banks, containment units, power loggers, thermal imagers, and other related equipment.
Maintain accurate reporting and documentation, ensuring all records are complete, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant standards and procedures.
Accurately log and update all MEP modifications, as well as as-built details, on field drawings to maintain precision.
Verify that all handover documents, including Supplier Operating Orders (Soon), manuals, warranties, and other relevant materials, are obtained from suppliers and contractors and stored appropriately.
Ensure site-specific capacity planners are kept current with expansion initiatives and equipment modifications.
Compile monthly technical reports for examination and dissemination by the MEP engineer.
Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and promotes a secure working environment by implementing and overseeing compliance protocols and safety measures.
Ensure MEP subcontractors deliver and maintain all necessary quality documentation and records in compliance with applicable standards.
Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations among MEP Subcontractors throughout the project duration.
Develop and oversee the Zero Injury and safe power activation initiatives across all project locations.
Required Qualifications and Expertise:
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, demonstrating a proven track record of success. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must, as the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience leading projects from inception to completion and a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, and advanced certifications or specialized training are highly desirable.
