Oversee the teams responsible for Sea Export operations originating from Kenya.

Ensure the team remains apprised of any changes or evolving developments while facilitating the necessary internal alignments and clearly communicating the objectives.

Assess the performance of direct reports.

Enhance the competencies and expertise of the workforce through targeted training and professional development initiatives.

To establish optimal procedures for transferring cases during organizational changes within the team, ensuring seamless continuity and adherence to best practices.

Develop the Middle Office’s organizational structure, cultivate specialized expertise, and establish standardized processes to ensure operational excellence.

Ensure the organization, the expertise and the means are in line with the objectives given by the Manager.

Regularly review the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and ensure alignment to serve customers.

Oversee the execution of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by the Management Office (MO) team, ensuring compliance through quality audits—both internal and external—and maintaining alignment with the approved action plan through continuous monitoring.

Coordinate and monitor operations.

Monitor the quality of service provided to the clients.

Oversee and mitigate potential risks to ensure organizational stability and compliance.

Establish and maintain a robust risk control framework to mitigate potential threats effectively.

To minimize additional charge exposure, all necessary actions must be implemented promptly and effectively.

We are responsible for achieving both client-agreed contractual KPIs and internal performance metrics.

To ensure minimal disbursement exposure, perform all necessary actions, including executing compliance classification procedures, accurately posting billing and expenses, and managing associated risks, with a particular emphasis on debit-related concerns.

Collaborate with both Front Office and Back Office teams, including Legal and Insurance, to facilitate the customer disputes process and introduce measures that prevent the recurrence of underlying causes.

Ensure comprehensive insurance coverage, encompassing both self-provided and contracted services, is maintained in collaboration with the Back-Office support team responsible for Insurance.

Management is required to be informed regarding all matters pertinent to operations, strategic initiatives, and performance metrics. Regular updates must be provided to ensure alignment with organizational goals and to facilitate data-driven decision-making. This role involves reviewing progress reports, analyzing key performance indicators, and addressing any operational challenges promptly to maintain efficiency and productivity. Effective communication of insights and recommendations to leadership is essential for fostering transparency and driving continuous improvement.

Identify key customers based on cargo type, shipment volumes, financial stability, and strategic importance, then establish tailored operational monitoring frameworks to ensure optimal oversight where necessary.

Gather and compile data on operational risks, including customs-related challenges, then deliver a monthly report to the Manager.

Compile and present a monthly performance report to the Manager, summarizing the department’s achievements and projecting future trends. The report must incorporate an analysis of key market dynamics, including customer behavior and competitive activity, to provide strategic insights for upcoming periods.

Profile

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and exceptional communication abilities. Prior experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, or project management is highly desirable. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies, conducting market research to identify growth opportunities, and presenting findings to senior leadership. Proficiency in data analysis tools and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

A relevant qualification such as a Diploma in Clearing & Freight Forwarding or a comparable academic program is required for this position.

With a proven track record spanning five years in a high-volume C&F organization, you have managed sea export operations at a managerial level.
