More particularly, your responsibilities will include:

Enhance the end-to-end security of our Cloud and network infrastructure, specifically within the Mesa processes.

Provide cloud security and network architecture support across all projects.

Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs), establish standardized templates, and modularize and streamline configuration items and implementation processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Deploy robust cloud and network infrastructure that aligns with operational requirements, ensuring seamless integration and performance of our services and applications across the network. This involves a thorough evaluation of capacity planning, functional capabilities, and utilization metrics to optimize efficiency and reliability.

Automate network-related controls throughout the organization, covering both cloud-based and on-premises environments.

Develop and execute advanced cybersecurity strategies, incorporating cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and Zero Trust frameworks to enhance network security measures.

Proficient in implementing Azure security solutions, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), network Security Groups, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC), Web Application Firewalls (WAS), and related services.

Proficient in Cloud Security Operations, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and Cloud Workload Protection, with demonstrated hands-on experience in these domains.

With expertise in shared responsibility models within cloud environments, as well as Privileged Access Management and Cloud Threat Prevention, particularly on Azure Cloud, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of these critical security frameworks.

Ensures comprehensive documentation of both cloud and on-premises networks, maintaining accuracy and completeness at all times.

Ensures the harmonization and standardization of networks across the Region, local markets, and cloud environments.

As the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Cybersecurity in one African market and backup SPOC for another, you will support the remediation of vulnerabilities, implementation of patches, and strengthening of system defenses to enhance overall security posture.

Responsibilities include the maintenance and support of multiple cybersecurity systems, such as Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAS), Antivirus solutions, Logging platforms, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and Host-based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).

Investigate and resolve Level 1, 2, and 3 issues affecting Cybersecurity operations to ensure minimal disruption and maintain system integrity.

Facilitate the implementation, management, and optimization of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to ensure robust security frameworks.

Offer assistance in the identification and mitigation of cybersecurity incidents, ensuring prompt detection and effective response to potential threats.

Set and uphold rigorous benchmarks to successfully execute the Cybersecurity strategy.

Execute measures to mitigate risks associated with the MPA framework, conduct thorough internal and external audits, and perform comprehensive reviews to ensure compliance and operational integrity.

Enhancing the organization’s cybersecurity resilience is a key objective, achieved through the implementation of multiple strategic initiatives, such as establishing and maintaining robust Cybersecurity Baselines.

Impact on the business

Coordinate optimization of the Operational & Monitoring cyber security baselines (CSB) controls across all MPA relevant business areas and processes associated to Network Security;

Develop and deploy robust network security protocols to safeguard digital assets, including data, software, and hardware systems.

Monitor network traffic vigilantly to detect any anomalies or unauthorized access, promptly investigating and mitigating potential security breaches as they arise.

Perform routine security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address perimeter security risks and network-related vulnerabilities, including unsecured ports.

Formulate, implement, and maintain robust security policies and protocols to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with IT and other departments to establish and maintain robust security protocols across the organization.

Monitor emerging security trends, evolving threats, and advancements in technology to ensure you remain current and informed.

Deliver training sessions and share knowledge with staff members to enhance their understanding of network security practices, offering ongoing support as needed.

Provide comprehensive support for both internal and external audits pertaining to technology systems and processes, guaranteeing the absence of known technology audit findings within these systems. Additionally, ensure the timely closure of all audit findings in alignment with mutually agreed-upon deadlines.

We collaborate with clients, vendors, and external partners to ensure seamless business operations and foster strong relationships. This role requires frequent interaction with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, address inquiries, and resolve issues efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships are essential for success in this position.

Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and critical stakeholder mandates within all Technology domains.

Ensures adherence to the terms outlined in the Cybersecurity managed services contract, verifying ongoing compliance with the agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Support for validation, timely completion and accuracy of Technology audit checklists and user access rights reviews

Coordination involves managing analytical processes and implementing incident response measures.

To uphold adherence to established procedures and ensure effective change management governance, oversee the meticulous execution and compliance of all planned and emergency modifications within the Technology systems framework.

As the driving force behind transformative initiatives, this role is responsible for spearheading innovation and managing change within the organization. Facilitate the implementation of Security and Privacy by Design Assurance (SODA) processes in alignment with GDPR and organizational requirements.

Consistently evaluate and uphold security policies and measures to ensure alignment with evolving business needs and the dynamic security environment.

Establish and configure a comprehensive analytics framework and suite of tools to ensure accurate data collection, processing, and reporting.

Deliver sustained enhancements to cybersecurity operations by streamlining core processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Facilitate comprehensive internal and third-party service review meetings to assess performance metrics, identify service enhancements, evaluate quality standards, and analyze operational processes.

Provide strategic guidance for enhancing cybersecurity service improvement initiatives and oversee the execution of recommended actions to ensure timely and thorough completion.

Facilitate the dissemination of information security awareness initiatives and training programs to all MPA users as well as third-party vendors.

Planned driving incidents and established robust emergency communication protocols for both internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable technology-focused discipline is required.

Experienced professionals with a strong background in network security, holding a senior specialist role or equivalent, will be considered for this position.

Demonstrates comprehensive expertise in network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security tools.

A professional qualification in Network Security is required, such as Compton Security+ or CCNA Security.

Proficiency in Network Security is essential, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding network infrastructures against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

We require a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in Network Security, with expertise in Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web Application Firewalls, VPN administration, Content Filters, and Security Scanning tools.

A minimum of two years of dedicated experience in implementing and maintaining Network Security Solutions is required.

Proficient in utilizing a range of security tools to mitigate risks and enhance system protection.

Demonstrated expertise in project management alongside a strong track record of effectively executing tasks and delivering results.

Maintaining a forward-thinking stance to anticipate and mitigate emerging security risks proactively.
