Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for executing technical tasks related to echocardiography (Echo) scans, supplying physicians with critical data on cardiovascular diseases, illnesses, and disorders.
The role involves executing and overseeing a range of key tasks and obligations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Additionally, the position requires analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Conducting comprehensive echocardiograms across all modalities, including 24-hour Holder monitoring for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Prepare detailed echocardiogram reports for final review and approval by the cardiologist.
Support Cardiologists by assisting with Trans-Oesophageal Echo (TEE) procedures.
Conduct a detailed analysis of Holder monitor recordings and prepare comprehensive reports for the Physician’s review.
Ensure Echo and Holder Monitor reports are dispatched to patients or referring physicians in a timely manner.
Work closely with Biomedical Engineers to guarantee timely upkeep of equipment, addressing any maintenance needs efficiently and proactively to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.
Maintain precise, up-to-date documentation by meticulously recording test results in the computer system, on report forms, and within batch registers.
Develop echocardiographic films and perform diagnostic examinations of patients, delivering the findings to cardiologists for interpretation. Conduct preliminary assessments of imaging results and exam data to establish provisional prognoses.
Conduct quality control assessments and maintain thorough documentation to verify that the ECHO equipment functions at peak performance. Additionally, identify any equipment malfunctions and promptly notify the Head of Department to initiate maintenance and repair actions.

Obtained through approval by the Radiology Council of Kenya, this certification is required.
Experience
Requires a minimum of six months of hands-on experience in echocardiography, with a preference for candidates who have performed such work within a hospital setting.
