The ideal candidate will handle the following responsibilities:

Offering expert financial planning and executing the establishment and administration of the University’s budget(s) form the core responsibilities of this role.

To design, execute, and oversee the implementation of robust financial, accounting, and administrative policies and procedures that guarantee the optimal and efficient use of university resources.

Compiling statutory financial statements and annual reports in strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as applicable regulatory guidelines.

Serving as a key liaison between internal and external auditors, this role is responsible for upholding the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting while ensuring seamless communication across all audit-related activities. By maintaining rigorous oversight, the position safeguards the integrity of financial statements and fosters trust through transparent and consistent reporting practices.

The University is responsible for maintaining compliance with all statutory reporting requirements and adhering to relevant national and international legislation to ensure full regulatory alignment.

The department’s daily operations are managed, and guidance is offered to management regarding resource optimization strategies for the university.

Overseeing the university’s revenue collection processes, ensuring accurate tracking and strategic deployment of research grants and institutional endowments, while maintaining financial integrity and compliance with established policies and regulations.

Overseeing the finance and accounting department staff, including their development, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

Offering comprehensive administrative assistance to every department within the University while ensuring strict adherence to established financial policies and procedures.

Compiling accurate, pertinent, and prompt management reports in accordance with the University’s established calendar is required.

Additionally, you will undertake any other official responsibilities assigned by the University Management as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. At least three years of hands-on experience in software development is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is mandatory. Familiarity with cloud platforms—including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud—is strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking are critical. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams are also necessary. Prior experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a significant advantage.

Applicants are required to have the following qualifications:

A recognized university must confer a Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or an equivalent discipline.

A Bachelor’s degree in Business is required, including but not limited to a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Business Administration, or any other business-related degree from an accredited university.

A recognized accounting qualification, such as a CPA (K), an ARCA finalist status, or an equivalent professional certification, along with active membership in the relevant professional body, is required.

A registered member of a relevant professional organization who maintains an active and compliant status.

A minimum of five years of post-qualification professional experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, or financial management is required, with preference given to candidates from universities, public institutions, or comparable organizations.

Proficiency in financial management regulations, accounting standards, and internal control systems is required.

Experienced in utilizing ERP systems and financial management software, along with a solid understanding of pertinent Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth through continuous training and development initiatives.

Experts in analytical assessment, financial reporting, and strategic planning are highly desirable.
