Job Purpose

The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, engage in collaborative multidisciplinary patient management, facilitate teaching and training initiatives, and uphold the hospital’s commitment to providing sustainable, outstanding holistic healthcare services.

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within defined timelines and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and drive operational excellence across teams. Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high-performance standards while resolving conflicts and removing obstacles to progress. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project health, identify risks, and implement corrective actions proactively. Serve as a primary point of contact for senior leadership, providing regular updates, data-driven insights, and recommendations to support informed decision-making. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Evaluate, identify, provide treatment for, and oversee patient care across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and specialized healthcare environments.

Formulate and execute tailored treatment plans in strict alignment with recognized clinical standards and evidence-based protocols.

Conduct medical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice and professional competence.

Engage in ward rounds, clinical audits, mortality and morbidity reviews, and quality improvement projects as part of your responsibilities.

Ensure patient records and clinical documentation are maintained with precision and timeliness.

Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient management.

Deliver comprehensive health education and counseling services to patients and their families to promote informed decision-making and improved health outcomes.

Engage in assigned emergency call responsibilities, outreach activities, and community health projects as directed.

Provide guidance and foster professional growth for medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees through structured training and mentorship programs.

Support the advancement of research initiatives, foster innovation, and enhance evidence-based clinical practice.

Maintain compliance with professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks that govern medical practice.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with substantial experience in the relevant field, preferably holding a degree in a related discipline. Proven expertise in key responsibilities, including strategic planning, project management, and team leadership, is essential. Strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and proficiency in industry-specific tools are required. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of delivering measurable results and collaborating effectively across departments. Familiarity with current industry trends and best practices is a must. The ideal candidate will possess the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement.

A recognized institution must confer a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or an equivalent qualification.

Licensed and registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Holds a current, active professional license in good standing.

The candidate must have successfully completed an internship training program.

One year or more of post-internship clinical practice is highly desirable.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly beneficial.
