A prominent telecommunications company is actively seeking to appoint a Trade Development Representative to join their dynamic team.

Job purpose

To prioritize in-person retailer visits, aiming to enhance brand recognition and improve the performance of SIM and Float metrics, while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at the point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee a diverse range of critical tasks ensuring operational excellence, including managing project execution, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving strategic initiatives aligned with company objectives. Implement and maintain efficient processes to enhance productivity while ensuring adherence to compliance standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and mentor team members through constructive feedback, goal-setting, and professional growth opportunities to cultivate a high-performing workforce. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and operational teams to facilitate clear communication, align priorities, and resolve escalated issues promptly.

Effectively oversee the identification and recruitment of Agents, focusing on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Visit assigned SOS and agents consistently, following the predetermined route plans (beat plans).

We are responsible for equipping SOS and Trash Agents with the essential business tools required for seamless transactions at SSO and agent outlets, while also ensuring they are thoroughly trained on all relevant processes.

AML training and development initiatives involve educating agents on anti-money laundering (AML) protocols and standard operating procedures (SOS) pertaining to the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, specifically in connection with the SIM registration (SIM REG) framework.

Responsibilities include overseeing float and stock management while actively enforcing the 1.5x stock rule to ensure agents maintain sufficient inventory. Additionally, you will verify that Stock Sales Officers (SOS) have adequate stock of SIMs to support seamless new registrations and activations.

Develop and enforce merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.

Seeking candidates with a strong academic foundation and relevant professional experience. Applicants should possess the necessary qualifications, including advanced degrees or specialized training in the field, complemented by hands-on experience in a related profession. A proven track record of success in prior roles, along with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, is essential. Additionally, familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices is highly valued.

A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.
