The Position

Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will acquire practical, hands-on experience in Information Technology within a fast-paced NGO setting. This internship offers exposure to essential ICT functions, such as user assistance, systems administration, network monitoring, data and systems management, and security operations. The intern will collaborate closely with the ICT team to support daily activities, contribute to active initiatives, and advance the organization’s objectives by maintaining seamless, secure, and dependable ICT services.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties and obligations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Lead strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and foster collaborative relationships to drive efficiency and innovation. Perform critical analyses, evaluate performance metrics, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and achieve business goals. Maintain compliance with industry regulations, uphold ethical practices, and mitigate risks through proactive monitoring and governance. Serve as a key liaison with stakeholders, facilitating transparent communication and aligning expectations to optimize outcomes.

Offer technical support to employees regarding common software and hardware-related challenges.

Provide support for the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of both hardware and software systems.

Provide assistance with diagnosing and resolving network issues while ensuring the ongoing upkeep of network infrastructure.

Engage in proactive follow-up regarding the repair and maintenance of ICT equipment to ensure timely resolution and operational efficiency.

Deliver ICT support for meetings, events, and field activities as required.

Support Information and Communication Technology (ICT) security operations by overseeing threat monitoring, implementing security policies, facilitating audit processes, and maintaining adherence to organizational standards.

Document any unresolved issues and escalate them to senior ICT staff for resolution.

Execute any additional tasks as directed by the ICT supervisor.

Seeking candidates with a strong academic background and relevant professional experience. The ideal applicant will possess a degree in a related field, complemented by several years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable discipline.

Seeking candidates with a proven track record in networking, PC maintenance, Microsoft Windows Server administration, Microsoft Active Directory management, desktop operating systems support, as well as expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are essential for this role, facilitating effective collaboration and clear, concise interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
