We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal-certified Plumbing Specialist to join our team for a significant high-rise residential development in Nairobi, Kenya. This position encompasses the installation, rigorous testing, commissioning, and meticulous quality control of a wide range of plumbing systems, including domestic water, drainage, firefighting, irrigation, swimming pool, and specialized installations.
Oversee and execute core tasks essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Perform duties such as analyzing data, preparing reports, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency. Handle administrative functions, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining documentation. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and problem resolution. Monitor progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes. Uphold compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Review and analyze architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings to extract critical design and construction details.
Proficiently installs comprehensive plumbing systems, including hot and cold water supply lines, as well as drainage, soil, waste, and vent piping, ensuring adherence to building codes and safety standards.
Install sanitary fixtures, pumps, tanks, filtration systems, and booster systems in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
Oversee the installation and maintenance of subsurface drainage systems and perform specialized plumbing installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Proficiently installs various water systems, including irrigation networks, wet risers, sprinkler mechanisms, hydrotherapy tubs (jacuzzis), and pool piping infrastructure.
Perform pressure testing, drainage assessments, and system commissioning to validate operational integrity and functionality.
Ensure adherence to British Standards, applicable local regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
Requirements
Certified plumber holding a Red Seal endorsement, proficient in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings. Capable of interpreting blueprints, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and troubleshooting complex plumbing issues. Skilled in working with pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems while collaborating with construction teams to deliver high-quality service. Possesses strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the physical stamina required for the demands of the trade.
With a minimum of five years of specialized experience in high-rise or commercial construction projects, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in the field.
Demonstrates comprehensive expertise in the coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with a particular emphasis on plumbing infrastructure.
Proficiency in firefighting techniques and specialized water systems is advantageous.
International project experience provides a valuable asset to prospective candidates.
