Serves as the Chief Executive Officer, classified at the ADAM 1 grade level.

The monthly salary for this position ranges from KSS. 260,000 to Kshs. 460,000.

The position is appointed for an initial term of three years, with eligibility for renewal for an additional one-term period.

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the organization by setting strategic direction, ensuring financial stability, and driving overall performance. The Agency must maintain an effective management structure, which includes comprehensive succession planning to ensure leadership continuity and operational stability.

Ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and pertinent Board papers to members is paramount. All documents must be meticulously prepared, reflecting relevance and correctness, and distributed to the Board without delay.

Act as the intermediary between the Board and Management, facilitating seamless communication and alignment of strategic objectives.

The agency’s objectives are to be successfully accomplished through the implementation of strategic initiatives and efficient operational execution.

Developing and implementing robust administrative frameworks, streamlined processes, and efficient systems.

Delivering consistent, detailed, and timely updates to the Board regarding critical technical, financial, and administrative issues remains an essential responsibility. This role ensures transparent and proactive communication to support informed decision-making by leadership.

To execute the directives issued by the Board, the role entails translating strategic resolutions into actionable initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, overseeing their implementation, and providing progress updates to maintain accountability and transparency throughout the process.

Every day, you will oversee the Agency’s operations and ensure the execution of policies and programs focused on anti-doping initiatives, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

Our role includes developing and implementing educational initiatives and awareness campaigns to inform stakeholders about critical issues, policies, and best practices, ensuring clarity and engagement across all relevant audiences.

Research.

As part of this role, individuals will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of products, systems, or software to identify defects, verify functionality, and ensure compliance with established standards. This involves designing and executing test cases, analyzing results, documenting findings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address issues and implement improvements. Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks is essential, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

Conduct thorough investigations to identify, analyze, and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Gather, evaluate, and document evidence while maintaining confidentiality and integrity throughout the process. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate resolution and implement corrective measures as needed. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management review.

Effectively oversees the management of results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery. Develops and implements structured processes to track, analyze, and report outcomes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate findings and resolve discrepancies, maintaining high standards of quality. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with regulatory and internal policies while enhancing transparency and accountability in result reporting.

Provide administrative assistance to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee.

The formulation, development, and execution of the Agency’s strategic plan, along with any additional plans required to fulfill the Agency’s mandate, are key responsibilities.

The position involves overseeing and coordinating staff operations, ensuring efficient team management and workflow. Responsibilities include directing team members, assigning tasks, and maintaining clear communication to support organizational goals. Strong leadership and organizational skills are required to foster a productive work environment.

Perform such additional duties as may be assigned by the Board from time to time.

The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the Secretary to the Board, fulfilling all associated duties and responsibilities.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications for consideration. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is necessary, along with at least three years of professional experience in a related discipline. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. A candidate may only be considered for the position of Chief Executive Officer if they meet the following criteria:

Candidates must hold a postgraduate qualification from an accredited institution and boast a minimum of five years of professional experience in sports or administrative roles.

Possesses expertise and hands-on experience in anti-doping regulations and procedures.

Ensures compliance with the provisions outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
