We are currently seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Plumber to join a prominent high-rise accommodation project based in Nairobi, Kenya. This position will encompass the installation, testing, commissioning, and rigorous quality control of various plumbing systems, including domestic water, drainage, firefighting, irrigation, swimming pool, and specialized configurations.
Oversee a range of critical duties including strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with senior management to align business objectives with actionable initiatives, fostering innovation and sustainable growth. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Manage cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards. Serve as a liaison between departments to streamline communication, resolve conflicts, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, analyzing their contents to extract and apply relevant information accurately.
Proficiently install comprehensive hot and cold water supply systems, along with drainage, soil, waste, and vent systems, ensuring compliance with established plumbing standards and specifications.
Install sanitary fixtures, pumps, tanks, filtration systems, and booster systems in accordance with established specifications and safety protocols.
Responsible for performing underground drainage operations and executing specialized plumbing projects with precision and expertise.
Professional installation of irrigation systems, wet risers, sprinkler systems, jacuzzis, and pool piping is required. Responsibilities include precisely assembling and positioning these systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Perform pressure tests, drainage evaluations, and system commissioning procedures to verify operational integrity and functionality.
Ensure adherence to British Standards, local regulations, and OSHA safety guidelines.
Requirements
A Red Seal Plumber certification is required for this role. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, adhering to safety regulations, and troubleshooting complex plumbing systems is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team are critical. Excellent communication skills are necessary to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and supervisors. The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship is a key requirement.
With a minimum of five years of hands-on involvement in high-rise or commercial construction projects, candidates should demonstrate extensive expertise and familiarity with the demands of such environments.
Proficiency in coordinating MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and an in-depth understanding of plumbing system design, installation, and maintenance are required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience in firefighting and specialized water systems.
International project experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
