Purpose
The Senior Accountant specializing in asset management is tasked with overseeing all asset-related accounting, maintaining the fixed assets register, and implementing risk management procedures for assets. They are also responsible for accounting for accruals and prepayments, ensuring tax filing and compliance, and preparing financial reports in accordance with relevant IFRS standards. Additionally, the role involves managing accounts payable and expenses, strengthening internal controls, facilitating audit processes, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities in alignment with company policies.

Responsible for executing complete accounting processes for all asset categories, including fixed assets, intangible assets, and those governed by IFRS 16, ensuring full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Perform fixed assets verification and assign asset tags to maintain an up-to-date asset register in coordination with the operations team.
Track and maintain accruals and prepayments, ensuring precise timing of their recognition and strict compliance with established accounting policies.
Oversee the asset management function, which encompasses maintaining the asset register, generating schedules, producing reports, and conducting reconciliations.
Prepare the audit-ready schedule and supporting samples for assets, accruals, prepayments, and tax-related items. Additionally, provide assistance for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities.
Ensure adherence to tax regulations by managing VAT and WHT filings, performing monthly reconciliations, and updating internal ledgers accordingly.
Demonstrate leadership in asset risk management by ensuring the timely renewal of insurance policies for all assets.
Perform treasury operations and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for the holding company.
Maintain accurate documentation and postpone commission entries in accordance with contractual obligations and projected revenue streams.
Handle all additional responsibilities delegated by management as needed.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, along with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline. A member in good standing of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (IC PAK) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ARCA), holding valid certification.
Possesses comprehensive expertise in IFRS, with working knowledge of US GAAP considered beneficial.
A minimum of six years of professional experience within a fast-paced financial setting is required, with particular emphasis on asset management and regulatory compliance.
Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
Proficiency in utilizing QuickBooks and expertise in operating Asset Management systems are essential.
Proficiency in Oracle represents an additional asset for this role.
