Our client, a premier telecommunications company, is seeking to employ a Trade Development Representative to join their dynamic team.

Job purpose

To enhance retailer awareness and improve SIM and Float turnaround, the role involves conducting focused channel visits, with a strong emphasis on maintaining visibility and ensuring proper merchandising at the point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee the core duties and obligations associated with this position, ensuring the execution of critical tasks in alignment with organizational objectives. Deliver high-quality outcomes while adhering to established timelines and maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and drive project success. Serve as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, providing actionable insights and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping – With proficiency, oversee the identification and recruitment of Agents, focusing on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Maintain regular contact with SOS and Agents by adhering to established route plans (beat plans).

Provide and deliver all essential tools required for seamless transactions at both SSO and agent outlets while conducting comprehensive training sessions for SOS and Trash Agents to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.

Deliver comprehensive anti-money laundering (AML) training programs and conduct assessments to ensure agents grasp AML protocols and relevant single sign-on (SSO) procedures for Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance within SIM REG operations.

Float and stock management responsibilities include maintaining and overseeing coverage while ensuring agents adhere to the 1.5x stock rule. Additionally, the role involves verifying that Sales Support Officers (SOS) have sufficient stock SIMs available for new registrations and activations.

Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of necessary merchandising materials at all SOS and Agent outlets.

We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background and relevant professional experience. Applicants should hold a degree in a related field and possess demonstrated expertise in their area of specialization. Professional experience in a comparable role is essential, along with a proven track record of success. Additionally, familiarity with industry standards and best practices is required to excel in this position.

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.

Experience

With a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in sales and distribution within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or telecommunications (Telcos) sectors, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in these areas.
