Job Summary:
This role offers a distinctive chance to engage a skilled Senior Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, the selected candidate will deliver comprehensive leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight for the finance department. Additionally, the individual will oversee the team of accountants.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the accounting functions for the Group company, encompassing Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), and Counsel, as well as Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Compile and release accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
Oversee the compilation and submission of regulatory reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
Investigate complex technical accounting matters to ensure adherence with regulatory standards.
Facilitate the month-end and year-end financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
Maintain rigorous oversight of financial transactions and reporting ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Oversee tax risk management and strategic tax planning initiatives to ensure compliance and optimize financial outcomes.
Oversee adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal government reporting obligations and tax filing deadlines to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Craft comprehensive business processes and accounting policies to establish and enhance robust internal controls, ensuring systematic documentation and compliance.
As required, additional controller responsibilities will be assigned.
Essential qualifications encompass a comprehensive understanding of relevant industry standards and practices, coupled with demonstrated proficiency in pertinent technical and operational domains. Candidates must exhibit a minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience in [specific field/role], preferably within a similar organizational structure. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of tax legislation and accounting principles. Demonstrates proficiency in applying relevant regulations and frameworks to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Proficiency in managing KRA tax audits and maintaining strong relationships with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is essential.
Holding an advanced degree in the field of accounting is a prerequisite for this position.
