Role Summary

The Batch Hair Technician spearheads efforts to enhance brand authority and market presence by rigorously testing all hair products in batches and monitoring evolving trends and consumer needs. Collaborating closely with the hair care team, this role includes contributing to advanced salon education initiatives and delivering compelling product demonstrations. Positioned in Kenya, the position emphasizes upholding technical excellence through rigorous quality assurance, alongside training professional stylists, salon partners, and internal sales teams. Serving as a critical liaison, the technician ensures hair products align with quality benchmarks and market demands, while adhering to manufacturing and brand specifications.

Oversee and perform daily operational duties to ensure seamless workflow and optimal efficiency across designated functions. Manage project execution from inception to completion, coordinating resources, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that drive productivity and reduce operational costs. Maintain meticulous records, prepare detailed reports, and present actionable insights to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance: Guarantee the product adheres to established quality benchmarks outlined in Hack standard operating procedures while aligning with market and consumer expectations.

Educational Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive regional training calendar that incorporates diverse learning opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and trade show demonstrations.

Partner with the sales team to enhance product sell-in and deliver comprehensive technical training on product knowledge to sales representatives.

Conduct ongoing market intelligence by tracking hair care trends and competitor actions, then leverage insights to suggest enhancements to existing products and potential line extensions.

Relationship Management: You will address technical inquiries, address product complaints, and onboard new salon partners through effective engagement and communication strategies.

Ensure consistent product application and maintain strong brand visibility throughout the professional salon setting.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; 5+ years of experience in software development; proficiency in Python, Java, or C++; familiarity with Agile methodologies; strong problem-solving skills; ability to work in a team environment. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting code reviews, debugging and troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

A Diploma in Hairdressing and Beauty is required.

A minimum of four years of practical experience as a professional stylist is required.

Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili is required.

Advanced proficiency in hair care techniques, coupled with a strong command of Microsoft Office applications, and excellent presentation abilities.

Dynamic strategic thinker with a strong organizational aptitude, demonstrating assertiveness and an impeccably polished professional appearance.

Proficient hairstyling expertise and an awareness of evolving market trends will be considered beneficial.
