Deliver specialized technical and operational assistance to strategic planning and corporate coordination initiatives, encompassing duties such as:

Provide assistance in the creation, integration, and oversight of the UNSC’s annual work plan, results frameworks, and strategic planning documents.

Support the Deputy Director and senior management of UNSC by preparing strategic notes, concept notes, and internal planning documents.

Provide assistance in embedding gender equality and women’s empowerment priorities into UN system-wide initiatives, unified strategies, and collaborative inter-agency frameworks.

Support the development of concise briefing notes, comprehensive background papers, and polished presentations tailored for senior leadership meetings, inter-agency collaborations, and external engagements.

Deliver technical and operational assistance to United Nations system entities and inter-agency coordination initiatives.

Assist in compiling, evaluating, and sustaining current information regarding United Nations system coordination mechanisms, technical entities, and inter-agency procedures pertinent to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Provide support for the seamless coordination and follow-up of UNC initiatives, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the United Nations system.

Offer comprehensive administrative and operational assistance in the planning and execution of high-level inter-agency meetings, events, or initiatives, including but not limited to Correlated coordination and UN system consultations.

Deliver expert technical assistance to the Secretariat of the Gender Equality Acceleration Plan (GAP), ensuring seamless operational support and adherence to established protocols.

Offer comprehensive technical and operational assistance to the UCSD coordination and partnership initiatives.

Engage with both internal and external stakeholders on behalf of UNSC, encompassing UN bodies, Member States, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and other relevant partners, to enhance system-wide collaboration on gender equality initiatives.

Assist in arranging and documenting coordination meetings, consultations, and briefings organized by UNSC, which includes drafting agendas, compiling background notes, preparing summaries, and recording action items.

Provide cohesive internal liaison among UN Women divisions and offices to ensure alignment with UNSC mandates and deliverables.

Support advocacy initiatives, strategic communications, and resource mobilization through diligent background research, drafting of proposal contributions, and proactive engagement with key stakeholders.

Education:

Meet one of the following:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level academic program, such as a second university degree or an equivalent qualification, or hold a higher-level degree.

Currently enrolled in the final year of an undergraduate degree program, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree or higher, at an accredited university.

Graduates from holding a university degree are required to start the internship within two years of completing their studies if chosen for the position.

As a requirement of your degree program, you must be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and complete the internship as part of its curriculum.

Language:

Fluency in English is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.

Proficiency in an additional United Nations language serves as a beneficial qualification.
