The HIV Epidemiologist will deliver expert technical advisory services and innovative leadership in HIV surveillance, epidemiological analysis, data modeling, and implementation science across Palladium Kenya’s health initiatives. This position drives the application of national and county-level HIV data to inform program evaluations and policy-relevant analytics, ensuring evidence-based decision-making.

Primary responsibilities encompass overseeing key operational functions, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and maintaining alignment with organizational objectives. Deliver expert technical support in HIV epidemiological analysis, modeling, and the application of routinely collected program and surveillance data.
Spearhead and provide guidance for implementation science, operational research, and evaluation initiatives focused on HIV/TB programs.
Deliver expert technical support to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the United States Government (USG), and relevant stakeholders in the areas of data modeling and epidemiological assessment.
Develop protocols, ensure data quality, and assess ethical and non-research determinations.
Deliver comprehensive analytical deliverables such as detailed reports, concise abstracts, scholarly manuscripts, compelling presentations, and concise policy briefs.
Facilitate capacity-building initiatives by developing comprehensive training materials and conducting stakeholder training sessions.
Key prerequisites include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or mathematics, coupled with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in data analysis or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in statistical software, programming languages like Python or R, and database management systems is essential. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail are critical for success in this role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required to convey complex insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Candidates must demonstrate a proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
An advanced degree at the Master’s level or above in Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, Health Systems, or a closely related discipline is required.
