Job Summary:
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager to join the team. Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight within the finance department. Additionally, the position involves supervising the accountants.
Facilitates the execution of core operational tasks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maintaining process efficiency. Oversee the accounting functions encompassing Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), and Counsel, as well as Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition for the Group company.
Craft and release accurate monthly financial statements on a timely basis.
Oversee the compilation and submission of regulatory reports to ensure compliance with applicable standards and deadlines.
Investigate and analyze complex technical accounting matters to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Facilitate the completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Oversee and maintain rigorous quality assurance for all financial transactions and reporting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Oversee tax risk management and strategic tax planning initiatives to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
Oversee adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory reporting obligations and tax submission deadlines.
Craft comprehensive business processes and accounting policies to enhance and fortify internal controls, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
As additional duties arise, controller responsibilities may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in [specific field/industry], complemented by a minimum of [X] years of relevant professional experience—preferably within a [specific type of organization or setting]. ARCA or CPA certification is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Over a decade of cumulative experience in accounting, finance, or audit functions is required.
Big Four firm experience is essential, with preference given to candidates from PwC, Deloitte, EY, or BDO.
Proficient understanding of tax legislation and accounting regulations is required.
Proficiency in managing KRA tax audits and fostering strong relationships with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is essential.
Holds an advanced degree in accounting.
