Job Summary:

This role offers a distinctive chance to engage a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, the selected candidate will deliver comprehensive leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight to the finance department. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee the team of accountants.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties, encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Implement and manage key initiatives, fostering collaboration across departments to drive efficiency and innovation. Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress, identify challenges, and implement corrective measures as needed. Prepare detailed reports, analyze trends, and present findings to stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making. Uphold compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, facilitating professional development and fostering a high-performance work environment.

Oversee the full scope of accounting functions for the Group company, encompassing Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), and Counsel, along with Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.

Compile and release accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner.

Prepare and oversee regulatory reporting documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and deadlines.

Conduct in-depth analysis of technical accounting matters to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Facilitate the completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Maintain rigorous oversight of financial transactions and reporting upholding the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate tax-related risks while optimizing tax planning initiatives.

Oversee all local, state, and federal regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring strict adherence to applicable laws while accurately preparing and submitting tax filings in a timely manner.

Craft comprehensive documentation for business processes and accounting policies, establishing robust frameworks to uphold and enhance internal control systems.

Additional controller responsibilities will be assigned as required.

Seeking a candidate with a robust background in relevant expertise, proven technical competencies, and hands-on experience in the specified domain. The ideal applicant must possess a strong foundation of industry-relevant knowledge, coupled with the ability to apply specialized skills to meet operational demands. Prior professional experience in a comparable role is essential, ensuring the individual can effectively contribute from day one. Additionally, familiarity with key methodologies, tools, or frameworks pertinent to the position is required.

ARCA or CPA certification is a mandatory requirement for this position.

With a minimum of ten years of comprehensive experience encompassing both accounting and finance, or alternatively, specialized expertise in audit functions, the ideal candidate will be thoroughly prepared to fulfill the role’s demands.

Professional experience with a Big Four accounting firm is required, such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), or BDO.

Demonstrates a solid understanding of tax legislation and regulatory accounting principles.

Proficiency in managing KRA tax audits and sustaining positive relationships with the Kenya Revenue Authority is essential.

Earned a graduate-level degree in the field of accounting.
