As a Senior Manager, you will serve as a critical strategic bridge between the sales organization and our customers, ensuring that business prospects are efficiently converted into customized wireless communication solutions. Within the Texas Sales Team, this position requires a thorough grasp of client needs, industry obstacles, and shifting market trends to craft and propose cutting-edge network solutions that support customer goals. The role collaborates closely with the sales team to formulate successful strategies, prepare persuasive technical proposals, and communicate distinct value propositions that set the company apart in the intensely competitive wireless landscape.

Additionally, this position demands leadership in customer engagements, involving presentations, solution demonstrations, and discussions that distill intricate technologies into actionable business insights. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including product management, engineering, and delivery—the Senior Manager – Presales guarantees the viability and smooth implementation of proposed solutions. Furthermore, the role plays a key role in boosting win rates, expediting deal finalization, and fostering customer confidence, thereby significantly contributing to revenue expansion and reinforcing the company’s competitive standing in the market.

Serves as the central coordinator of the multi-tiered sales process, guaranteeing the successful finalization of deals.

Duties include cultivating and sustaining robust customer and prospect connections while promoting products, services, and solutions.

Exhibits exceptional sales proficiency, coupled with comprehensive technical and commercial expertise in telecommunications, encompassing optical transport networks and wireless technologies such as 4G/5G RAN and core solutions, to ensure customer satisfaction and facilitate order generation and revenue growth.

Develops and guides a regionally-focused, high-performing team of presales and support specialists.

Directs and oversees customer interactions from initial discussions to contract execution, overseeing negotiations, proposal development, and final agreement completion.

Drives business expansion, with order intake serving as the primary key performance indicator (KPI).

Drives the growth of new business prospects throughout East Africa by cultivating direct customer relationships and implementing customized, client-focused approaches.

Devises and implements comprehensive regional sales strategies, assuming complete responsibility for cultivating customer connections and achieving predetermined sales objectives autonomously.

Manages the complete sales cycle, spanning prospecting, cold calling, and order closure, with a commitment to maintaining strong customer interactions daily.

Develops pricing strategies grounded in meticulously researched account-specific market intelligence.

Oversees the full operational lifecycle of the annuity business, with a primary focus on driving and sustaining high on-time renewal rates for annual maintenance contract services.

Mandatory competencies include proficiency in problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and effective communication, along with the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams. Candidates must possess at least three years of relevant experience in a similar role, demonstrated through a proven track record of delivering measurable results. A strong understanding of industry-specific tools, methodologies, and best practices is also required. Additionally, familiarity with regulatory compliance standards pertinent to the position is essential. With over a decade of hands-on experience in sales, you have a demonstrated ability to excel in direct sales engagements, cultivate strong relationships with Internet Service Providers, Fiber Network Operators, Wholesale Bandwidth providers, and Mobile Operators, and consistently deliver measurable results.

With a minimum of five years of sales experience in the East African market, you possess an exceptional network, particularly within Kenya’s telecommunications sector.

Demonstrates the capacity to cultivate and sustain high-level connections, ultimately fostering trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders.

A comprehensive grasp of the telecommunications domain, its underlying technologies, and the operational landscape within the Telco industry is required.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in grasping the technical value proposition and articulating it as a compelling business value proposition through a consultative sales methodology is essential.

Demonstrates a strong history of successfully overseeing sizable and intricate sales transactions while reliably achieving or surpassing established performance benchmarks.

A degree equivalent to an MBA is highly desirable.

Significant travel throughout East Africa will be necessary for this role.

Preferred Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business administration, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in project management methodologies, data analysis, and proficiency with industry-standard software tools. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and experience in process optimization are advantageous.

Education requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, preferably complemented by an MBA with a specialization in Sales and Marketing.
