Fair Chain Workforce fosters a fair and sustainable global workforce model by linking highly skilled, audit-trained accountants in Kenya with accounting firms across the Netherlands.
Our Nairobi-based team exclusively partners with Dutch accounting firms, delivering premium accounting, compilation, and financial reporting services tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
We prioritize the creation of accurate, standardized, and audit-ready financial documentation that complies with Dutch regulatory standards. Our team thrives in a results-oriented setting, where accountability, operational efficiency, and sustained high-quality deliverables are fundamental priorities.
Top Performers Only
This position seeks seasoned audit professionals with proven leadership capabilities, specifically those with prior experience as audit seniors or assistant managers—particularly those trained within Big 4 firms—who have consistently delivered outstanding performance.
We are specifically looking for:
Professionals holding positions at the Senior Associate or Assistant Manager level, or those in comparable roles within a premier organization, are expected to meet the outlined criteria.
Earned the Advanced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA-Kenya designation, demonstrating expertise in accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and professional standards.
Professionals capable of independently overseeing multiple year-end files while ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality are encouraged to apply.
This opportunity serves as an ideal transition for experienced audit professionals seeking to move beyond testing and review, aiming to assume complete responsibility for financial reporting deliverables. Geared toward mid-to-senior-level candidates rather than entry-level practitioners, the role offers a strategic shift from audit-focused duties to broader financial oversight.
As a dedicated professional in this position, you will be tasked with spearheading key initiatives and ensuring the seamless execution of projects within the team. The role requires a candidate with strong analytical abilities, exceptional problem-solving skills, and proficiency in relevant software tools. Additionally, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality. Prior experience in a similar capacity and a degree in a related field are essential qualifications for this role. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our organization.
As a Senior Accountant, you will assume complete accountability for the year-end compilation and financial reporting processes for Dutch clients.
You will be tasked with overseeing the final reporting deliverables and ensuring the technical precision of financial statements, rather than conducting audits directly.
Your work includes:
Responsibilities include examining accounting documents to detect discrepancies, errors, or potential financial risks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
Executing final modifications, including accruals, provisions, and reclassifications, to ensure financial records meet compliance and accuracy standards.
Transforming audited accounting records into financial statements and condensed reports compliant with Dutch regulatory standards.
Managing numerous year-end files concurrently within a deadline-sensitive, systematically organized setting represents a key responsibility in this role.
Delivering meticulously prepared and thoroughly documented files in compliance with review standards.
Dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency, documentation standards, and response times on an ongoing basis, the incumbent will ensure consistent progress in these critical areas.
Communicating effectively and courteously with Dutch accounting professionals is a key responsibility of this role. This includes conveying financial information, addressing inquiries, and ensuring clear, respectful exchanges in both written and verbal formats. Fluency in Dutch is essential, as is a strong grasp of professional accounting terminology to facilitate seamless interactions and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders.
This position demands technical precision alongside a commitment to rapid execution and a high sense of accountability.
What You Bring
A Certified Public Accountant with a valid Kenyan Practicing License (CPA-K) at an advanced or qualified level is required.
A minimum of six years of dedicated audit experience within a public practice setting is required, with a strong preference for candidates from Big 4 firms or other top-tier organizations.
Proficient in executing the complete accounting cycle and preparing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Experience with year-end files, audit execution, and working paper documentation
Demonstrates exceptional self-motivation and the capacity to deliver high-quality results autonomously, maintaining efficiency and precision throughout all tasks.
Individuals must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, with a keen ability to manage deadlines autonomously and maintain rigorous adherence to project schedules. A proactive approach to planning and a strong sense of accountability for meeting milestones are essential for success in this role.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and possesses strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
