Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will acquire practical experience in Information Technology within a fast-paced NGO setting. This internship aims to offer exposure to essential ICT functions, such as user support, systems administration, network monitoring, data and systems management, and ICT security operations. The intern will collaborate closely with the ICT team to aid in daily activities, contribute to active projects, and advance the organization’s mission by maintaining seamless, secure, and dependable ICT services.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Lead and manage key projects, processes, or teams with precision and accountability, delivering measurable results. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive efficiency, innovation, and growth. Collaborate cross-functionally to foster cohesive teamwork and achieve shared goals. Maintain rigorous adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance requirements while upholding the highest ethical standards. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members to enhance performance and professional development. Monitor progress, assess outcomes, and implement corrective actions as needed to optimize productivity and effectiveness.

Deliver technical support to employees regarding common software and hardware challenges.

Provide support for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of both hardware and software systems.

Provide assistance with diagnosing and resolving network issues, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability. Maintain network infrastructure to uphold seamless connectivity and minimize downtime.

Ensure ICT equipment undergoes timely repairs and maintenance as needed.

Offer technical assistance for information and communication technology systems during meetings, events, and on-site activities.

Support the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Security Operations team by monitoring potential threats, implementing and enforcing security policies, coordinating audit activities, and verifying compliance with established organizational standards.

Document unresolved issues and promptly escalate them to senior ICT personnel for resolution.

Execute any additional tasks or assignments delegated by the ICT supervisor as required.

Academic and professional credentials include [list specific degrees, certifications, or licenses required, e.g., “a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with five years of hands-on experience in software development”]. You should be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.

Experience with Unix and Windows environments, as well as foundational networking principles, is required.

Proficiency in networking, PC maintenance, MS Windows Server, MS Active Directory, desktop operating systems, along with expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies is required.

Exceptional ability to foster effective interpersonal relationships and convey information clearly.

Adaptability and eagerness to acquire proficiency in emerging technologies are essential.

Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining meticulous accuracy and collaborating effectively within team settings.
