Oxfam in Africa is looking for a distinguished Head of Humanitarian to deliver strategic leadership and ensure comprehensive oversight of humanitarian preparedness and response initiatives throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
As a pivotal member of Oxfam’s Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in developing and executing the organization’s humanitarian strategy, guaranteeing that crisis responses are prompt, effective, and compliant with international benchmarks. This position involves leading a team of humanitarian advisors, spearheading regional preparedness initiatives, managing emergency interventions, and fostering cohesive partnerships across country offices, affiliates, and Oxfam’s Global Humanitarian Team. Additionally, you will contribute to humanitarian policy development, advocate for strategic influence, and advance the LHL agenda alongside Oxfam’s global commitments.
This position plays a pivotal role in uniting strategic leadership, operational management, and external engagement, positioning Oxfam as a key humanitarian leader throughout the region.
This position operates under the supervision of the Programs and Influencing Director for Oxfam in Africa, receiving additional matrix management oversight from the Deputy Humanitarian Director of the Global Humanitarian Team (GHT).
