Finance team members are tasked with receiving, recording, reconciling, and strengthening internal controls to protect the Church’s sacred funds, which are donated in confidence and stewarded in accordance with divine principles to advance its religious mission under the guidance of senior ecclesiastical leadership. This role serves as an introductory-level professional accounting position, where the incumbent applies established accounting standards to manage specialized records and reports while ensuring the ongoing accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and generating routine financial statements.
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established protocols, managing a team of professionals while fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction, aligning activities with organizational objectives. Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and execute corrective actions as needed. Collaborate across departments to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and drive continuous innovation. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies while maintaining meticulous documentation and reporting. Serve as a key liaison between leadership and operational staff, providing clear communication and actionable insights to support decision-making and long-term growth.
Compiling journal entries and performing necessary adjustments comprises a significant component of this role. This includes accurately recording financial transactions and ensuring all entries comply with established accounting standards and company policies. Additionally, the position requires meticulous attention to detail to identify and correct discrepancies, thereby maintaining the integrity of the financial records.
Initiates consistent maintenance of general ledger files, performs detailed account reconciliations and reviews, and resolves outstanding ledger discrepancies efficiently.
Upon examining expenditures in relation to the allocated budget, the incumbent will perform essential reconciliations, undertake thorough investigations, and record correcting entries as required.
Assisting with the preparation of diverse financial forecasts and expenditure reports.
The auditor conducts thorough reviews of project accounts to verify adherence to established policies, while simultaneously communicating with relevant stakeholders to provide updates on project status.
Assisting in the development and mentorship of priesthood leaders and other junior accounting staff members.
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive security protocols. The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in threat detection, risk assessment, and incident response. Proficiency in industry-standard security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls, is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, along with the capacity to communicate complex security concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field is mandatory, and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASM, or CEA) are highly desirable. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management—with a specialization in financial accounting—is required.
Holding a recognized professional qualification and active membership in pertinent professional organizations, such as CPA(K), ARCA, or CISA, is essential.
Incumbents are required to adhere to the accountant code of conduct and possess a solid understanding of financial and accounting theory and policies, with a comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Seeking candidates with at least four to six years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting.
Requires a strong proficiency in leveraging computerized accounting systems, with a proven track record of extensive hands-on experience.
A strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required, along with substantial hands-on experience in these tools. Familiarity with Oracle or People soft systems would be considered a valuable asset.
A strong proficiency in interpreting intricate accounting challenges and financial statements is required.
A strong candidate will demonstrate the capacity to design and implement accounting systems with a focus on risk mitigation.
Demonstrated expertise in reconciliation processes is essential for this role.
